another edit: you probably wont need the hydrolysate, i'd just make the kelp and alfalfa tea. i've seen a couple people on here say they use that exact recipe all the way to the end (obviously not every watering but you get the point).

yeah man i bet you're running out of room in those like greasemonkeymann stated. he's a sharp guy, that one. gonna be 3 months pretty soon. i would say get that topdress amendment mix going on, and you're going to have to use some nutrient teas til the end.

I thought I would be fine as long as I needed with smart pots. don't they air prune? also yea I do have some lime 1 cup per cubic foot. my base was peat moss.

ok, thats slightly heavy on the lime. but shouldn't be a deal breaker. probably just holding it pretty neutral, that's what it did for me.

yes your pots air prune. i agree, i DON'T think they can't make it to the end in that much soil. but i bet they're getting cramped. seems like enough to get you through. i think your going to see improvements with the tea, and amendment topdress (don't forget to mulch). i think your plants look happy dude. i think you could do 1/4 cup of them worked into the topsoil of the pots, and then mix another 1/4cup with some EWC if you have room. you topdressed EWC already a couple weeks ago if memory serves me correctly? so maybe you'll have to just dump the whole 1/2 cup and work it in to the best of your ability, mulch and water in the kelp and alfalfa tea. also i've seen huge responses to using coconut water at 1/4cup per gallon. but like i said your plants appear healthy. keep up the good work. it is what it is until the next run.

yeah topdress that, you said it's been cooking right? might as well go with something that is further along than throwing straight raw. raw would take longer.

the foam is gooooooood!! well, only a microscope can tell you how good your tea is... but many associate a good foam to a good tea. nice job. how long has it been brewing?

26 hours. gonna wait til about 630 when the sun sets and then water her in. my outdoor bathroom I have it brewing in smells like the ocean? lol

nice. they'll be lovin that tea. is there a reason why you water at night? IMO it's best to water in the morning, not at night. i don't think there is a lot of transpiration happening at night, therefore the roots are not sucking up water as much. this makes them sit in really wet soil overnight until morning when light dependent reactions fire up, stomata reopen, and transpiration occurs much faster, sucking up more water.

like how early in the morning? my sunrise is at about 6 something am. and I'm usually at work by 4am. so I won't be home til 1pm.

yeah just unnecessary wetness. before the heat of the day comes is when they should be watered.

EDIT: transpiration is a way for the plant to cool itself, just like for perspiration is for us. so the hotter it gets, the more they transpire to stay cool. so watering them before the heat of the day is the best way to help them stay cool!

haha I've seen those circular tubing that people lay on top of the pots and have automatic watering systems.. know if thay would be a good idea to invest in?

i've never used that system before. but a self watering system is definitely sweet! i've got a few blumats i'll be putting in my 20gal fabric no-tills. as soon as i get my veg room figured out i'll be able to roll my new no-tills into the veg room and get them planted. there are people i see that use stuff like 2litre bottles and invert them into the top of the soil and it works as a self watering device. then it wicks into the soil as the plant needs it. cool shit.
