I do listen and pay attention but you guys need to give advice instead of digging at people, my problem is defoliating okay what tips do you have (already heard it's bad) give me some advice instead of absolute bullshit
I defoliate despite what many of these growers tell people, defoliation used in the right way is a great asset in accomplishing a higher yield....But first and foremost I learned many years ago to only defoliate a little at a time so you don't stress the plant out too much.... example today my ladies are in their second day of flowering I went into the grow room and gave them a little haircut {a whole shoe box size 12} and I do this maybe 2 times a week for the first few weeks of flowering, to stop all those big fan leaves from covering up my budding sites. That's pretty fantastic. I hear a lot of crickets. Let's just say you had an above-average first run. Damn. I feel like I should be suspicious this is a troll, those numbers are just inside the believable line, and I don't know you from Adam, but I'mma give you the benefit of the doubt and:

Lol thanks....But it's literally not my first run {researching cannabis for 20 years} it's just the first grow that I've had in about 10 years...So to get really technical with it this is about my 5th grow in my lifetime.

Painkillerby Dr underground View attachment 3533882This is my best so far as a growerand it's at week 4 flowering
I'm not hating on you for defoliating your plants, but do you have any pictures of them before, so I have an idea on how they looked.
I'm sure your babies will fill up nicely.
And thanks for standing up for me but it's okay I take no offence to what they said, everyone has a way of talking and giving advice and I appreciate everyone that helps in anyway.
And also what kind of light are you working with?

And that's what I did lol, thanks for your insight...
Painkiller has abit of sativa so not a hairy bitch and I only defoiliate once a week by same thing taking just the big fan leafs and since week 3 I haven't defoiliated at all its just growing this pic was at around two days after me giving her the last trim. Now all I do for her is pk and keep her a little stretched.
As for the afghani it's a hairy bugger and very hard to grow thus is my second attempt on this lady and I swear it teaches you allot. My first attempt with the afghani I just chopped and dried at week ten ( really hard basterd) with really hairy buds so it was a good munch.
See no we are talking sense

I don't have any lol if you go through my stuff I think you could come across em but I can take one today compared to last week's. And hopefully it will fill out.

First you need to give up on those Afghani freebies.... Pretty sure they're all bird seed

There's no sense in growing a bunch of leaves just to cut em off.... The time and inputs add up... Not that a skilled grower couldn't yield well w defoliation but its stupid....

Canopy management is the way to go..... Topping... Lollipop- ing and light pruning of the canopy... Bamboo and trellis

I defoliate it because I have no space in room after panning the plants out. Maybe one I can teach how to do when I can master it.
Lollipoping causes more stress to the plant yet a skilled grower can do it.
It's all stress to the plant we all have our ways to do things because of our situation. Each to their own and the afghani seeds lmao I had to find out what it's like and thank god it was a proper teaching/ lesson in growing i will ever have. Even my out doors vegg yearly don't work as hard as the afghani.

Defoliating is useful on a lot of grows, I know if you use a scrog you defoliate all that doesn't make it to the top after week 2-3 of flower. Sure you would say differently but I really don't care what you say because I know from my experience what gives the biggest buds and least mold under canopy.

A lil bit like that its ok. But not more than that. IMO. I DONT DEFOLIATE I LIKE BENDING BRANCHES AND LEAVES BETTER. But again THATS JUST ME. Every grower got there own unique style and preferences. And imo if the plant doesnt need a leave she will drop it herself. Good luck everyone!!! Happy gardening!!!
