This thread is awsome!!!!
Took me some time to read all twenty pages and now my eyes are bleeding but it was worth the time.

Good to see there is a breeder around who is not only in for the money.
I do some breeding too but with photos the last two decades.
have worked out a f10 ibl from a cross I made more than a decade ago (sensi star x black domina) and adapted it very well imo to my outdoor climate.
btw it has red stalks some have red juice too looking like thin blood when making cuttings. Buds are from green (only some) to red and light to deep purple. Selected for overall performance and because I like colors in plants so much for this reddish stem color plus budcolors.
so I know what you walking through bro.

Great work! You are close to your goal.

Btw. Your dogs are nice too man.
I am a dogman too. Granpa bred dogs too. He bred service dogs for police customs and military as well as family dogs. His dogs were good manstoppers too (big oldschool german shepard lines) not the small ones you see today lol.

My first dog was a dane x fila brasilero. A 150 pound male. He was a giant. I have doberman since.
so sweet to the family and pets but so so mean to strangers.
but doberman needs lots of love and hugs if you beat em once I realy would close the door of thr sleepingroom after that. There is a big band of friendship and love between a doberman and you and if you destroy it you are no longer his friend. We have observed hardhanded people getting killed by their doberman while sleeping because of beating them in my country.

Hahaha well thanks for taking the time man thats legit :)
Nice, im always interested in bullshitting with a fellow breeder, very impressive F10?? should be a pretty solid line with you making choices outdoors that many consecutive generations. what were your goals?

Performance in what respect? yield? or overall vigor?

I sure hope so! lol

Thanks!! I take a lot of pride in my dogs, sounds like you and I have a lot in common.
Ahh like the old Euro lines.

wow, thats a very unique cross cant say Ive ever seen anyone use the brazilian mastiff in a bandog cross, how was that dogs temperament and disposition around animals, kids and adult men?

Oh yeah man I feel you 100% people dont really understand for some reason but dogs dont react well to being beaten under any circumstances, Humans can be disciplined and even learn valuable lessons from a beating because as primates we use force, intimidation and coercion socially to achieve our goals but dogs dont do that if you ever watch wolves in the wild they will hardly if ever attack other members of the pack, the social structure of a wolf pack is primarily based on ancestry (aka mom and dad are alphas children are subordinate) with humans and primates usually the biggest and meanest fucker is boss regardless of where he comes from lol

Hey mate yes I love to talk about breeding too.
the f10 is just a result of my personal needs. First three generations were f1-3 were all indoor. I selected for potency in the first place and the buds would knock most seasoned potsnops with high tolerance straight to the couch. A friend of mine I gave cuttings from the sensi star I used and he sold some of the weed to other people and they brought it back asking for some other weed with the argument "its too strong we cannot sleep 18 hours a day and thats what we do when smoking that stuff" lol so he took it back and sold them some of his skunk
It was realy narcotic sleep meds.
after f3 I was forced to go outdoors with the work. I avoid buying seefs because I had to lay low for some shit going on in my life.
so I worked with what I got.
Most plants from f4 were green with green buds and I lost a lot of em to budrot. Some plants had light purple buds and reddish purple stems with some green in it. I thought deficiency first but it wasnt.
those plants showed the best resistance to budrot.
the following years I saw powdery mildew a lot too due to wet falls.
if you have wet septembers in my corner of the woods most plants will have to deal with pm.
again the purplish plants showed the best resistance and for resistance I selected to get a decent harvest even when falls would be wet. But that changed the look of the plants and structure a lot. Internode spacing increased aswell as strenght of sidebranches.
potency was a bit waterrd down honestly but not too much. The fashion of high changed like a bit away from narcotic to some mote head high that would keep your brain going like you think a hundref things in two moments.
so the maimgoal was to make it resistant while not loosing too much potency. Yield is great too for a outdoorplant without too much chances for loosing a crop due too pm or budrot.

Re dog
his name was Zeus.
he loved children and other dogs.
his best friend was a doberman male. But the funny thing was he never dominted him with his yaws he only dominated him with his mighty body. When Zeus had a stick to play with he hold it in his mouth and you cant pull it out no chance but the doberman always tried exactly that. He went crazy because Zeus wont give it to him. When the doberman started to get agressiv because he wont get the stick Zeus simply bodychecked him hard so the doberman made a roll and starting over again.
There was only one day when the doberman was realy nuts about the stick and wont stop to attack Zeus when Zeus bodychecked him and just pressed him down with his wide open yaw to the dobermans neck but didnt close it. The doberman stopped after this and lost intrest in the stick and all was fine again.
the only thing Zeus hated was cats. But thats what fila brasilero is bred for hunting big wild cats.
one day a turk came to my house to buy parts from a car. My mom opened the door and she was a small woman and the love of Zeus. The turk did not speak my language very well so he talked with hand and feet. I did not know my mom already openened the door and I walked out the house together with Zeus. When he saw my mom and the turk infront of her doing strange things with his arms towards my mom he jumped on him nailed him to the wall and was on to cut his throut. If my mom would not have put her arm in his mouth and shouted stop the turk would be dead. At the moment she gave the command to stop he stopped calmed down and watched the turk pissing his pants. I just was standing there with open mouth saying sorry man the dog is just protecting my mom. He bought the parts from the car and payd good. But he was shaking like naked in alaska the rest of the time and was happy when he left our property.
my mom and me were laughing hard after the guy left. Poor guy.
but otherwise Zeus was the most calm dog I ever had. I believe he knew how strong and big he was and thats why he always was cool with everything except cats.
had lots of fun with him. I could talk way more about him but look at this book^^^ lol just enough for one post in a cannabis related thread I guess bro.

Peace

thats legit bro! howd you test for potency? just the ol smoke test?
wow thats pretty interesting stuff, have you tried outcrossing to get back some of the potency that u lost after the F4? maybe that was just a sign of inbreeding depression and not a real drop in potency, or you just selected away from the narco pheno idk. the work you did with that cross is essentially how an heirloom variety is formed, complete isolation and only selections towards what works as opposed to what looks pretty, good shit. what size populations were you working with?

I know what your talking about ive noticed the more pure mastiffs are like that, they dont have high fight drives or anything like that because people have bred it out to make a safer dog lol

:) sounds like a very good dog.

Hi mag
yes since I live under prohibition laws the good old smoke test is the way I used. Cant go to a lab over here.
and I like the high the strain has now over that total narcotic of the initial cross.
its still strong body but also head but realy not too narcotic anymore.
who wants to sleep the whole day lol?
I think about a outcross to get the internode spacing back down a lil bit but I guess it could be counter productive to mold resistance.
Harvesting good potent weed was the goal in the first place. The shorter internodes are just a personal favourite of mine. So we will see.

my candidate for the outcross is a purple pakistan chitral kush. Its look and color especialy of the stem are very close to the f10 but has very short internode spacing.
as it is a pure landrace it comes with a good resistence to all the shit I have to fight here outdoors.

I selected always the best 40-50 seedlings from batches of 200 seeds. Later in veg I selected the 75% that were best imo. After sexing I selected the best two males from the ones that showed sex not first and not last. I used only the seeds from the best two females for future grows. The best in my opinion after smoke test.
The ones that made it to smoketest were the ones that showed the most resistance against botrytis and pm as well as bugs n stuff.

Thats it.

Smoke test is pretty subjective but in all honesty thats how the strains of today were produced gas chromotagraphy is a relatively recent invention so its not like people had a choice lol.

I think harvesting good potent weed should always be at the top of the goal list ;)

I feel you man, I like the heavy narco stuff later in the day when I need to wind down and enjoy some cartoons hahaha

Good choice, those pakis get really colorful and have that short tight spacing your looking to get as well.

Damn that sounds like a really well ran breeding program my friend, hats off to you :D

Thank you very much for the nice words and that comming from you makes me proud and happy bro.

Yes smoketest is very subjective.
I just did what I thought would work to provide me with some good bud that will not rot away before its ripe enough for harvest.

I am very very impressed by your breeding program too. Especially with autos its rare to observe someone putting so much work and passion into a strain.
Its Amazing!
Most others try to be ready to sell asap. You are different and I like it.
Great Karma there!

Peace

Oh and I nearly forgot...... I have a question.
when you crossed auto x photo did you observe a earlier start of flowering in f1? And was it much earlier?

Just curious about the f1 fast version seeds offered by sweet seeds. Maybe I should give it a try and cross a auto with one of my photo girls.

Yes the autos brought down flower time a bit but not drastically I would say from 14 down to an 11 week strain but I didn't find any super autos or anything like that like I had hoped.

Update

So I got hit my a group of mice about a week ago that took about 1/2 of my middle totes occupants and a few random ones from around the other tote edges, no biggie.

still plenty of plants growing and Ill be culling the runtier males to allow for open pollination with my best males and the females that match the phenotypic profile im after for this batch. 3 lines of A1 in these totes.

I cant wait for indoor, im pretty much done with all the outdoor BS for this season lol

Culled pretty heavily, only left 1 or 2 males in the totes tops, these get almost no light (something like 9 hours) and I just spray them with the hose hahahaha Im just ready to get back indoors and do my thang where these bitch ass mice cant bother me.

Cant wait to see the next indoor action! :-)

Peace
sure about that? lol (jk)

Got to work on my indoor setup this last week starting by cleaning out the closet, adding boards and hooks to support my 600 watt lamps (2), removing the door to the entrance and installing a tarp to keep in the heat and humidity with a zipper to make it easier to get in and out of.

Went through and labeled the plants that have begun showing any degree of pink and Now all I have to do is wait for the seeds to mature and hope the elements and pests dont ravage them so badly that I cant harvest anything from them :/

These seeds will be What Im starting next season with, since I know they come from pink plants the chance of progeny displaying pink goes waaay up and makes less work for me :)

:D thank you sir!

Got all my pots labeled, seeded and watered so now we just wait for them to peek out of the dirt and well be off to the races.

3 per pot and I will cull slow growing/ males/hermis as I go and hopefully by the end each pot will house 1 single female F7 plant.

I chose to limit this group to 2 sub families within my A1 line the Ch which fits the A1 bill but leans more to the cheesier side and the Ci which fits the A1 bill but leans more towards citrus aromas. (citrus was the goal aka fruity)

Only able to fit about 28 pots under each 600w so ill maybe take 4 of these for males when they get going and put them in the male box.

Trying to tighten up some of the phenotypic variation within this population so that I only get light and dark purple budded plants (omit green) and have them sorted into seperate families for further refinement.

Note that I always maintain backup seeds from all phenos in at least 2-3 generations in case I decide to go back and revisit a line that piques my interest for whatever reason.
