The 450nm spike at 3000K is looking pretty good IMO... little more beefy on blue than CXB but it could be due to increased green/orange dropping the red spike down a bit relative to the blue. Hard to tell how they compare... would be nice if someone did an absolute value conversion.

Here's the market talking; if someone built a chip specifically to nail these spectra, I'd buy as many of them as I could;

It would represent the optimum complement of blue and red plus full spectrum, be optimized for high efficiency when run softly (60%+) and have a relatively large LES, yet easy to mount.

Cree? Bridgelux? Vero? Anyone else who wants a loyal and profitable lighting market niche?! I'm talkin' to YOU!

I asked for pricing on 4 of the Luna 300 in 4000k 70cri. I also invited them to this site to get and give there insight on our style of light builds. I also asked for a lumen output at different watts down to 200 watts. I sometimes work near their office, so I will see if I can just pick them up. I just like the thought of a true watt for watt HPS killer, with only 4 chips.

Thank you for the inputs. Good point about 4k @Abiqua, I use a mix of about 75% 4k and 25% 5k, but Idon t grow cannabis. Though I would recommend the CLU046 1818, much cheaper (around 21€) and efficient as cree. The 22mm LES is easer the work with than the larger models (which are also overpriced). Currently testing one 50W setup' so far it's about 4-5C coolert han cxb 3070.

I am curious about these 4k 056 Citizen cob;s....The 70CRI versions seem to have some serious output @ 120 watts and I calculate a total fixture build of $2/par watt for 117 watts at Retail costs [I don't get cool discounts ], with Mechtronix active heatsink and Meanwell HBG-160, although the HLG 120 will suffice as well....

Considering a Tc of 25c....the "theoretical" lumen count is 167 lumens/watt....with an imaginary 325 LER for instance that is 51.3% efficient at 117 watts....[52v @ 2250mA] @ $.76/Par Watt

For the 85c TC @ 157 lum/watt, accounting for the same imaginary LER of 325....is still around 48% efficient @ 117 watts. and $.85 /Par Watt

LER for these 70CRI versions is higher, about 353 lm/W for 3000/70CRI. I'd expect 4000K/70CRI to be around 355lm/W.
3000K/80CRI - 330lm/W
2700K/80CRI - 326lm/W

CXM32 doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere not even at Mouser. Smaller COBs are available through various distributors such as Mouser, Digikey, EBV...

The keyword is "samples" when you talk to Luminus as in, Hi Luminus I'm having a hard time locating CXM-32's. I'm interested in producing a boutique type horticultural panel using your COB's. Can I purchase/get some "samples" from you direct?".

The new Budmaster COB-X-4's arrived so I did my typical unboxing, testing review video to show off what you get. They are using the 3500k CitiLED S4 High CRI COB chips, 4 of them at a draw of 196w-202w average draw. As soon as I get my journal up, I will post a link, but right now about 30 days into flowering, just swapped lights so this current grow will not really be a good judge of the lights, so I will be following up with a grow from start to finish.

Hope you guys like the video, I tried to think of all the tests that most would want to know. Please don't hate on my editing..LOL I'm still learning...

In trying to keep my herd of cat's worth of variables to a minimum, I'm planning on using the CXB3590 CD 3500k exclusively.

This is not a vote for the approach over mix n match, I just felt like I had to start somewhere.

This is where is started, lol. 3500k Vero 10's....at the time, none of the bigger offerings were in 3500k....I went with 3k CXA3070 AB's only 12 months ago and my how things have changed...The AB's are rockstar's imho and the CXB's can only be better

But now my curiosity is peaked with an all 4k run and then some mixing with 3k.....if I had some left over crumbs for 3500k I would jump on that in a heartbeat. Especially the 3590's and now maybe maybe the Citizens might be desirable too....

7 year life they say on the box, but I think the best I ever got was maybe a yr.
Most last a few months.

I'm suddenly an unfan of the 860W CDM; At least on 240V, running them as directed by the manufacturer does not net me any power savings at all. Somehow they still manage to pull 1100W from the wall!
Calling that saving is nothing but gall!

850w CDM in fact...it is more a guess but...companies are trying their products in US market and if it a success they try to sell it in other part of the world!
I never saw this kind of light in our growshops...but 850w who pull from the wall 1100!!! Better stay with a 1000whps! (I guess it is cheaper and you get the same gpw!?)
Same for induction...not in our biggest growshop (franchise)!
When a good product is in US it take 6month to a year to be available in EU
I can buy (expensive) Azomite since a month only
And we are lucky to have a Spanish company who sell V29 and cxb 3070 ab panels and MW drivers!

Did you ever get around to test a 1000w hps/mh bulb(s) draw in your mag ballasts?????????? before making this claim
