Trips to the Dentist

Let's hear em!

I have a trip to get a tooth extracted tomorrow, second from the back, top left

Past experiences include two root canals when I was in middle school. Both ended up decaying years later and required extraction. That was a pretty educational experience! My mouth began hurting at work one day and I couldn't figure out why, a day later the pain was so intense I had to go get it figured out professionally. Doc said I had an infection, gave me some antibiotics, came back a couple days later and he took it out in less than 10 minutes, problem solved!

The pain of the infection was at a 10, the "pain" from extraction was a 0

I kicked myself for not going in sooner and taking care of it beforehand since it was so simple to fix..

This tooth tomorrow I still have both roots intact, so I'm not sure what to expect. My dad just had 16 teeth removed to be able to fit him with dentures, and a week later he's still sore. It took me less than a day to recuperate back then, it'll be an interesting experience to see what happens now. I'm going to try to get some pictures of it if they'll let me, maybe even a video! I'll post it here if it happens.

How bout you guys? Let's hear some horror stories!

Go to the dentist regularly and there wouldn't be any horror stories.

You had root canal because of neglect. Those teeth should've been crowned years before. Had you of had a good dentist and gone regularly none of this would've happened at your age.

You're right

Although I grew up in a pretty poor family who didn't put dental hygiene at the top of the list of priorities, and I have a pretty serious fear of being worked on with metal instruments

See if they let you keep the tooth. My last dentist did, the roots are long and it still has dried blood on it. It's fun to freak people out with ;)

I take immaculate care of my mouth not because I'm virtuous, but because I fear the dentist SO much. I brush 3x per day with toothpaste and a 5% h2o2 solution that I mix down from 29%. I also brush once a day with the solution and baking soda, and I floss once or twice a day. Sounds like more of a deal than it is, but my breath is unbeatable and my teeth are unnaturally white. I've only been to the dentist once in the last decade, no problems here. Good luck, Pad...

Agreed do you drink mt dew n shit if so that's your problem in the dentist world it's called mt dew mouth look it up. Brush atleast 2 times a day morning and night w mouth wash to follow. Need dentures

I've put over 10grand into my teeth this yr alone..I was born with bad teeth. .by age 3 I had 4 removed. .I've struggled with cavities and cracked teeth my entire life regardless of brushing. Flossing. .cleaning. .
So I made a choice to have a bunch crowned ( I had double dental insurance, my work benefits and my guys so 5000$ ) best decision I ever made!! I had 6 front crowns done in a day.. .2 more rear molars crowned the following month..only missed a few hours of work...Not gonna lie I felt some pain but nothing to cry over...except my new smile...FB_IMG_1449149449972.jpgFB_IMG_1449149613958.jpg

Looks much better. It's amazing what they can do these days.

Yes for wisdom teeth. You got it easy. This is much better for you but you need assistance and will be fucked for the rest of the day. This is what Id want btw, general anaesthetic.

I've been sedated before not for teeth stuff,but for ulcers. I just felt groggy for the day no big deal.
My wife just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled. 2 of them were impacted. Funny thing she was awake the whole process. She was in pain but got though it.
