i know the feeling (:
i grew up in so-cal and had nothing but "kush" and hybrids.. but when i went back to asia-- i finally found out what the old vets were talking about when they reminisced about "thai sticks and what not"..
all i can say is landrace sativas (pure sats) are another kind of high:leaf:
Do they produce less trichs or does it just take a long time for the trics to start showing up? (never grown a pure sativa before)

they are not for those who want quick harvests~ , i'm currently growing one out which only started trichn on day 56.. barely., and the last batch finished 94days, yup, definitely not good for commercial grows.. but the end product.. connoisseur worthy bongsmilie

So yesterday I went to visit a friend in his restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I was telling him how good Marijuana was in Czech Republic and how it was much better than Mexican Brick Weed.

He told me he had some really good Mexican Land Race Sativa grown in the mountains of Puerto Vallarta in the State of Jalisco, it is a tropical jungle next to the sea.

He told me, "Before, there were many dealers, now the big cartels eliminated them all and so now they supply the same weed, they take the best and send it abroad and leave crap, but I was able to get a hold of some producers from the mountains, this is very good natural stuff grown with tropical sun and super fertile jungle earth."

I thought it would be garbage compared to the Hybrid strains and the "Cup winners" and stuff like that. When I was in Europe I was having problems finding good Sativas that would make me laugh until I discovered Durban Poison which became my favorite.

But compared to this Mexican weed I smoked everything else became garbage:

First of all, it was soft on the throat and lungs, we smoked it from a joint and it had an earthy smell/taste, no skunk or anything else, just earth.

The effects were amazing: I couldn't stop laughing, I was crying of laughter for hours, very heady, yet somewhat clear-headed, the effect was felt on the head and stomach, my mind wasn't fucked up but also not as clear-headed as Durban Poison. It was also very friendly: 0 Paranoia. The laughter came immediately after a few tokes and the effect settled happily and comfortably, it never climbed, never escalated to something scary and uncontrollable: It stayed in the right mood for more than 2 hours. It also gave lots of happiness and creative thinking, no hallucinations compared to Acapulco Gold.

And it always felt so natural, like a natural connection to mother earth, now it seems to me as if anything that is hybridized feels slightly toxic and harmful compared to this.

In fact, I think the whole point of hybridization is to produce fast high-yielding harvests adaptable to indoors and cold climates but in reality their quality and effect is just marketing, nothing compares to this, I swear. I'm sending some seeds to a friend in Czech Republic but this stuff is not meant to be cultivated indoors: they take 4 or 6 months to harvest!

Legalization now!
I agree with you completely, and am really glad I have some Durban Poison and Mexican Sativa from Sensi Seeds stored away for an outdoor run next summer. Only problem (for me) are nosy-ass neighbors and so I have to keep their height down to no more than about 4.5 feet which can be a pain in the ass, since these Land race Sativas are genetically programmed to grow VERY tall and often unruly. I think I will just plant them late in the season, otherwise I'll be wrestling with them the whole summer to keep the height down. All this, plus the longer flowering time is still worth the end result. What a wonderful and Luminous Sativa HIGH ! Totally the opposite of most typical hybrids offered on the market today.

My plants are freebies from Nirvana, any clue to what strain they might be?

Does that work? Seems like it would taste gross.
No, it actually tasted like really good Tequila and had a green tint to it but not much from the weed flavor could be tasted, it was a half a gallon bottle and it had about 10 ounces of weed inside! Don't know if it was the same weed but when I sipped it I felt like in my tongue like when you pour water onto hot soil and it evaporates leaving you an earthy taste and I fucking felt like some Underworld Egyptian feeling connected to the Mexican Dia de los Muertos , shit was crazy good and today I'm visiting my friend again, he's got plenty of this amazing weed and I'm going to ship some seeds to friends in Czech Republic, I could ship you seeds too but you have to $$$

While I was smoking this wonderful weed I understood some things:

First of all, most white people, also known as "first world countries" are dying spiritually. They are very well organized and perhaps intellectually superior but they are spiritually dead: They hold the control over the physical world but dark skinned people hold the door to the spiritual world which is more important and the way to go as the physical world will perish soon.

2) This is one of the reasons why dark skinned people are not very well organized is because subconsciously they are not that infatuated with the physical world. You can clearly see this in Africa, India, Egypt, and Mexico.

3) Mexicans are culturally similar to Egyptians, they hold many mysteries in their blood and a connection to the Gods and the underworld, their country is bathed in the sun and their food, character and weed is charged with this Sun-energy, when I was high I drank shot of Tequila: I felt how it turned to smoke in my mouth leaving earthy flavors just like sun-charged earth when you put water on it, it fred the voices of my Mexican ancestors, they told me they're still alive and around and we as Mexicans have the spirit alive in our veins.
The magnetism of the country is charged with energy, their souls are still very much alive although asleep. I could clearly see this now that I compare to my experience living in Czech Republic where the people's souls seem to have departed their bodies and they are cold and dead although intelligent, civil and organized.

4) There's a subconscious war, racist and attempt to control by the white people to dark skin people all over the world, it manifests through different excuses :Mexican drug war, Illegal Mexicans crossing the border, Arab terrorism, marketing tells us white people are prettier, etc.

5) Even though in my opinion this weed was far superior there's the possibility Americans or Europeans wouldn't be able to appreciate it as its energy is linked to the spirit of Latin American people just like the food. And hybrid, lab-made, indoor weed from cold countries has the spirit of that region of the world to which they can relate more.

Then

Then after the bullshit terroir part:

First off, forget about growing any mexican sativa indoors as 16-18 ft plants won't do so well under HP lights. Next off, I hope you realize this is 16-20 weeks of flowering to finish properly. Other than that, no problem......LOL

You're probably right, he won't be able to grow it. This is why MJ must be legalized in Mexico.

I now realize all the MJ most people smoke in the USA and Europe are hybrids designed to yield more, harvest fast, stay small and be easy indoors but the quality is shit.

I remember smoking the famous OG Kush in L.A. 2 years ago from a dispensary: It gave lots of energy, some laughs and a lot of mentally fucked up processes where you feel you get stuck into a stupid thought and then your mind freezes and basically causes major ADHD without really enjoying the moment, making you very anxious, plus dry mouth. Those breeders are trying to create some sort of "natural" crocodile or cocaine, it really sucks.

Go natural, go land races!

I ran Jack Herer once, at it had a 13 week flower time. Good yield and smoke, but 13 weeks took 4ever.
Real JH is a 75 to 80 day plant indoors respectively, but can finish around 65 to 70 in DWC.. There is a ton of different versions floating around.. But the real deal stuff, the stuff that won all those cups, should have more of the northern lights#5 traits.. It's the perfect commercial strain. Long donkey dick tight colas, fan leaves should turn deep purple(under perfect conditions) but with lime green buds..

Flavor should be juicy fruit and bubblegum..

Unfortunately RIU got hacked and we lost all of our pics way back so I can post mine.. but I will find a pic of what it should look like..

All of my strains that I made, except two have Jack in them..

This is how real JH should look..

And his name is pronounced Hairrr. Not the dumb ass here-air-er and dumbasses will argue to the death that it's not pronounced like that.. But if anyone has watched his videos when he says his name, he says Jack Hair-r

At :19 he says his name.. RIP

Sorry for my random rant, but this is one of my top favorite 5 strains of all time..

Cool. And thanks for explaining how to pronounce his name. I've always said it wrong.

As I understand it, he was a good person. Have you read his book? Is it good?

I'd love to get some of the original good jack to grow. If you were starting a jack grow from seed today, whose seeds whould you buy?

So you bred your own strains? Impressive. My mom and dad did some of that. They loved growing.
