Oh my thank you
There's no Mexican food where I live
Kinda depressing
I know I can make it myself and I do haha
But nothing like a good ole quick fix of Mexican at a cute shanty little place with a beer

There's Mexican... and there's not exactly.

There's one here in Ft Collins called El Burrito. It's one of the few places in this whole town that's older than I am. My family has been going there since before many in my family were born, it's expanded over the years but somehow never lost its hole in the wall charm.

The food is exactly the same as it was when I first sat down at one of those tables. EXACTLY the same; Stephen King could write a novel about nana Godinez never quite passing away, just forever stirring the chile. I'd recognize that classic homemade style green chile anywhere. If I was told I got one last meal, that's where I'd order it from.

I ate there just last week, so I know exactly how you feel.

Or at least comfort food. It must be said that while a freshly made, deep fried and piping hot sopapilla dripping with honey is certainly welcoming, deliciously sweet and satisfyingly hot and chewy... it might be a stretch to call it 'wholesome', lol

Same here. I try to do that as often as I can; all the pipes in my glass collection were made by artists right here in town.

Probably wolf brand chili and lots of ketchup just like my redneck grandma used to make. Yuck....
