Nope. My hempies are just plain ole colored buckets. Using 3 gal now. Was using 5 gal. Still a hole 2" from the bottom for a reservoir the roots can sit in. Fill it up with perlite only. You can add vermiculite or coco. I don't bother tho. And use the perlite over and over again. I mean for years bro. Water with Lucas formula about every other day when plant is mature. That's it bro. Keep your ph straight and voila! It's so easy a monkey can do it and cheap as..... I mean EASIEST and CHEAPEST way to grow I know of.

i started with dwc, built my own rdwc then went to hempys. dwc is probably the best form of hyrdro but you have to keep on top of it constantly. monitor pH twice daily, etc.

i can go away for a week easy and have no issues

yep. I've done soil and RDWC. Had to ph every single night. I'm lazy. I still got the GH Eco farm or whatever in closet. Hempy is just so easy. Have to admit tho. Been doing it for years and getting bored. Making compost now for a water only grow. But, ill prolly go back to hempy. Thanks for your input bro. I've heard of those rock things. Perlite is just so easy to get. And I don't know if CalMag helps or not. It doesn't hurt tho. So. Started out using it and still do. I'm a creature of habit and am very small time for personal. So I guess my bottle is 2 years old or so. I don't remember. I've used all kinds of nutes as well. The Maxibloom may not be the best. But it just worry free and works. I dunno. I'm certainly not the best grower. But my stuff works and is dank. Thanks again for your input.

the hard part about dwc is controlling water temps and not getting root rot. but the growth in dwc is amazing. easily an inch a day if given proper conditions.

i'm using GH flora duo now. i didn't like floranova, was too thick and had too much sediment in the bottom of my res.

to be honest, hempy is kinda boring. but then when i decide to go away for a weekend and can have a fun time and not worry that when i get home all my shit is dead, i kinda forget about the boring part. lol.

i tried all that shit. it really doesn't work in the end. an aquarium chiller although expensive is priceless doing dwc or rdwc. keep your water around 65F and things should be good

yep. it's still hydro. i even grow tomato plants in them outside in my greenhouse and the plants are much bigger than my dirt tomato plants.

this is what i got i paid $9.25 shipped from greenleafnutrients on ebay.. and got a free sample bag of an a+b formula like lucas for soil&hydro

they sent me a couple pages of what the stuff is and how to use it and all sorts of info on it and even on the back was a schedule to feed

i guess they are new expanding company this was a good deal also came in blacked out bags for storage so the light dont mess with the nuets they also stated

but on the other hand i dunno their history but will find out if this stuff is any good

im going to test that out tomorrow cause im noticing some cal mag def in my soils... i already dialed in my dwc with meters to around

200ppm with drinking water that was made from RO @ ph of 5.8

From reading about this powder product-----says best mixed to rez------then it says best mixes at 105 F.

Sounds to me like a tea that's mixed in 105 f water, then cooled before adding to rez or individual containers (DWC buckets, etc.)

Anybody agree or disagree with that?

Read about that powder "Lucas formula". It says best mixed with 105F water-----sounds like a tea to be mixed in rez.

sryz i didnt know any better im new ...but it was within my budget so imma try so far my dwc plant is far behind my soil both started off same time and same seed but was runt of the pick also cause of shock due too soil to hydro but its taking off i see roots about to touch down and the root it white and rapid growth. so i know i effed up(note the avatar) but i will post how this end's up just cause

ok ill gather full detailed status report of my so far collective data(also was going to us the gh) then and will update progress and man the roots today are comeing out everywere and is really touching down and the plant finally came outta shock and is looking nice but the seed leafs there all burnt up but will post very soon just busy.. and happy new years to all
