Anybody tried alternative lighting schedule?

So I ran into a setback. Last night or this morning while I was out doing the family thing for the new year, my air pump died. Killed all my clones.
There are 2 that are severely wilted, and while it's a long shot, I'm trying to revive them.
At any rate, I ordered a whole new setup (time for a revamp anyway) and it should be here Tuesday. Hoping to get it set up and more clones in.
Back on topic, I'm going to run the clones on an 18/6 schedule after the transplant for about 2 weeks before I switch the schedule to 6/2.
I figure if they don't hermie or flower, it's a success and I'll move on to tracking growth patterns from seed as well.
I'm pretty pissed about the air pump, but it has served 4 years (almost continuos 24/7 abuse) without a hitch. I'm switching to aero now because I have 3 or 4 backup pumps just in case.
Sorry for the delay guys. I'm not very happy about it either. Screwed my whole schedule up.

Well, I couldn't save any if the clones they were too far gone so I just threw some bag seed in.

They popped the day before yesterday so I threw them under the 6/2 schedule. I'll post a pic update on them tomorrow.

Can you even clone an auto. ?
The correct answer would be Auto-Flowering varieties Flower according to a "genetic timeline" and not dependent on a photo-period. So while you can take a clone from an auto-flowering female, quite successfully, it will retain the same "genetic timeline" as the mother, and throw itself into flowering accordingly

hey c rex, i m doin 6/18 in flowering now. but i d love to have someone try 6/12. thinking that if 12 hrs of dark is good in 12/12 should be ok for 6hrs of light. the 18 hr cycle perhaps shortening the time. but more stretch and i get light weights. have nt figured that out yet. good topic man.
420 monster et al, i cloned big band auto. clones went photoperiod. small light fluffy nugs. would nt do it again.

I'm just running this schedule for veg. Flowering will be 6 on 1 off 5 on 12 off.

I'm just looking to see if it affects the veg state. So far, no stretch other than the initial pop. For the beginning of day 3 since the pop, they look fine. No stretch and good growth. Can't say if it's an improvement over the normal 18/6, but I'm not seeing any downsides yet. I guess we will see as they get bigger.

I'm assuming I have to upload my pics onto one of those shared sites since I couldn't upload right to the forum. So long story short, I probably won't be putting up any pics unless there is a way around that.

You have little tiny seedlings under what light schedule?

Wow
That's aggressive

I'm pretty radical with how I treat seedlings but even I give them a weak or two to stabilize.
Good luck
Thanks. They're just bag seed (probably hermies) so if anything goes wrong it's no real loss.

I usually do a test run before I start perpetual again, so this is it.
