Bonjour
If you needed tester for your lights why you didn't choose a real famous one on riu...there must be growers who pull the gpw in soil under hps here!
Plus if the guys break his score all his hps friend would be future customers!!
Do you want to tell us what Horti mike done with your panel please!?!
And I was believing that a 400w panel was made for larger area....25x25 it is a 2x2...400w over a 2x2...it is a lot of w! (2x2=4×30=120w...it is what we advise for this area)it is like 1600w in a 4x4!...how long was the vegg?...

Day 35 of flower

Well, i totally took a slice out of my thumb on a fan at the end of a strenuous gardening day. I'm typing with my right middle finger and my entire left hand. If you know how to type, try it. Annoying.

Took pics of tip burning cause of over nutes. Busted out the ppm meter and took a look at runoff after a straight water only. Voila. The ppm's were up there 1700-2000 which i knew was gonna happen. I just don't know the genetics and wanted to see how far i could push em.

Usually would water nute>water>water. In this case I went nute>nute>water and they held till about week 4 then started showing slight tip burn. Today was too much for me and time to do a mid cycle mega flush.

36 gallons total to bring 1 slab (on the left) down to 550ppm, middle slab to 490, and right slab to 780. The slab on the right has only 3 6" cubes while the others have 4. More nute buildup area to flush. The downside of slabs.

Either way, my back was killing me and I said that was good at the end, and was just about done when I whacked my thumb in an accident.

So tomorrow late (around 7-8p) [lights out at 10] I'll do another solid watering flush and then apply nutes 2 days following that at 1/2 whatever it says for "aggressive growth".

I might be able to sneak in one more nute watering after that maybe cause getting close to flush time.

With these particular genetics, I now know I can go aggressive with the Nova 2nd 1/2 of week 2 thru week 3 and then bring them down wk 4.

Light still kickin. Love it. The flowers don't appear as large and i haven't had time to do minimal thinning (which i wanna wait on now cause of flush for a day or two), but i did pull the trellis tighter to the right and back and that stretched em out a little allowing more light underneath and a little more breathing room as they were looking a little cramped. Add a trim in a few days and we should be golden.

On the flowers: yah, they don't appear massive but they're not small by any means, so i assume the cell walls are actually developing closer together therefore making it denser, which may be why I see (what I think) may be a flower with a little less circumference. I just figure the CRI being 80+ and what else can affect that w/ the light? You'll have to clue us in..

So, we'll keep an eye on it and should be back to nutes 1 or 2x before we come up to 3rd base and on to the home stretch.

Attached pics are closeups of flower in two different lighting colors that my camera takes for some reason. And pics of overall stretched garden along with closeups of how much tip burn before I said uncle.

So thaz the scoop brah.

The final numbers are in. Harvested at day 56.
Final wieghts of the three strains totaled 17 oz.

The test grower is confident he can hit 24+ on his next run easily . I will start a new thread of the second grow journal as well.

did you ever start that second grow journal? I was going to build an LED panel with this exact same layout thinking that a COB in the dead center is inefficient and was wondering if you were able to pull the 1.5-2g/watt.

How far apart is each COB spaced? i was planning on 1 ft spacing, would work out perfectly for 4x4 tent.

I will be updating it hopefully this week. Been super busy . I have contacted the grower and hopefully will have pictures and report in the next couple days.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the spacing be even, whether it's ten inch centers, two foot centers or one foot.

16 COB LED chips in a 4 x 4 is gonna be intense if you're running them at 50W apiece. Running them at 25W will give you a bit more than half the light due to the efficiency increase.

no i'm doing only 8. Exactly like how Stephen has it, but i want to space each cob 1 feet apart, i don't know if that's how much he's spacing it
