hows it burnin roll it up?!? new season so new cab I'm building a new grow cab. it should be completed in the next few days. its 4'lx2'wx3.5'h has 4 hanging 2bulb t8 reflectors, as well as a 3 or 4 bulb t8 hood on the back wall for a total of 12 t8. small intake and outtake fans with carbon filter as well as a larger circulation fan lights will run about 386w and with fans should run almost an even 400. ill have a digital thermo that can be read from the outside of the cab hygro is just a simple dial that will be hung inside the cab will hold up to 10 mature plants in 2gal pots. walls completely covered in mylar 2 large doors and water catching plastic on floor of cab.

let me know what this sounds like and if yall think this could produce some successful buds?
ill post pics of the cab start tomorrow and once its finished ill start the official journal I have a doz seeds germin atm as well as 2 clones. stay tuned for future updates. haven't used fluorescents before only cfl so this is an experiment as well as a learning experience so any advice is appreciated.

Buy a good fan and filter. I reccomend Can or Phresh. You will really regret it com flower time. You won't need it now. Save a few bucks every week and buy it if need to.

There is never to much carbon. I got a link in my journal to 50 pound bags for $50.99. Shipping about $15. I'm going to make one out of a 5 gallon bucket.

Yes I'm using some left over 2x4 roll fence. I added wire to make it 2x2.

This looks good, but I think you should use panda film instead of that reflective stuff.

Panda film is white, like orca film and it doesn't absorb as much like as the stuff you're using there.

Panda film is really cheap from the local hydroponic store too. Like I think a couple bucks for a pretty big piece. It's white on one side and black on the other side.

yeah but I had a whole box of this laying around they use it to ship reptile crickets in to keep them insulated.
so I keep it just in case ill ever need it like now.
my whole setup was made with things I had laying around everything except the lights which I did have laying around but purchased over a year ago.
this could technicaly be considered a diy budget grow.

That may be a bad idea. I think your underestimating heat. You will need a inline fan to cool that box. Flouros are hotter than what people think.

That and insulating it will make it worse as the wood does absorb heat.

I used generic flat white. Eight bucks for a gallon at Walmart.

Ditto, I painted mine flat white also, and less work,,,
BUT, i do understand being on a budget,,
just have to find out if the cab can handle the heat or not,, be sure to test run it a couple of nights before you toss plants in it,, just to see what your temps end up being,, wouldnt want to fry the little clones,,

Edit: I guess I am spoiled with the cree cobs, i run my exhaust fan so so so slow, a whole differant world

I have gallons of killz 2 I thought about painting it but that shit sticks to everything. my box is in a uninsulated addition on my house so I'm not too worried about heat at least till it gets warmer then ill have to open the window or something.

I got my diy filter done now.

first I cut a round piece of filter to sit in the bottom flush then cut a more irregular piece to hold the carbon in

then I took a piece of finer filter like u would find in a heater duct as a filter. I had a bunch of these laying around so I cut one up.
I folded the mesh filter fabric up and put that tightly on top of the carbon. screw the canister into the lid that's adhered in the wood with a hole cut in it.
hopefully this works decently

u like that timer tim? lol I always used a normal timer and a power strip but figured I had it and never use it so why not then I don't have to have a huge timer take up 2 receptacle spaces on my outlet bc its bulky
