hey guys, on my 4th grow in veg at the moment, critical 2.0

i was starting my 5th node and i decided i was going to top.

small caly leaves > node > node > node > top

now the two shoots below the top are growing quite good, but the new ones, have barley started on some..
also coming in with a bit brown to them?

should i top it again below where i did?

pic coming soon

thanks

Should start back growing again in the next few days. I topped a few of mine to early last run and it took them about a week or so to start growing noticeably.

any reasoning for the brown? maybe i waited too long to water?
i guess i will lst the lower shoots? and let the new ones hopefully grow up.
i was planning on removing the lower ones after the new ones, but now i dont see a point as its 2 tops just a bit lower.

The brown spot is normal after topping.

Topping causes growth hormones (auxins) to be redirected to the lower branches. It will take approximately a week and the tops will be growing normally again. Don't cut off the lower branches!

I top all the time to get the lower branches to catch up with the uppers. It helps to make an even nice canopy with lots of tops/buds. Don't overwater and be patient, the plant needs time after your surgery:)

Yeah, it's going to be sweet:)

I using 10-15 gal pots and aim for a nice slightly rounded bush with between 16 and 32 tops and even as possible. How many tops are you going for?

Check out Uncle Bens topping techniques to get 2 or 4 main colas in the advanced marijuana cultivation section. You will be amazed!!! I top mine after the 3rd set of leaves and get plants with 24 or more huge colas. Here's a pic of one of them.

Yeah you have to time your topping, lol:). Happy to hear she's growing well.

Top the tallest branches to let the shorter ones catch up. It's kind of like a game to get the most colas per square foot. It also helps to tie down any branches if it will help keep the tops even.

What strain are you growing buddy?

Here's a couple pics of the same plant before and after I topped her. That was the only thing I did to her except for trimming off a few of the inner branches and leaves, and the teas which I fed her along her incredible journey!!!

"do i top the bottom ones?"

I didn't top any others on her after I chopped after the 3rd set of leaves.

"how long do i have to wait, 3 nodes again?"

How long do you have to wait for what? The set of round leaves don't count as a set of leaves.

Are those the questions you wanted answered?

UB calls them nodes, I call them sets of leaves. I like to wait till there is 5 sets of healthy leaves, then I chop right above the 3rd set.
