So I should just take your/his word that he is worth 12b and just disavow the "estimate" of the worlds leading financial publication.

I'm saying it is an estimate. Do you know what estimate means?

Its an extremely complex thing to compute the wealth of a very wealthy individual because it is hard to know all the details.

And as I've said before, the budget surplus is a myth. Please tell me the definition of a budget surplus/deficit. How is it calculated?

If there is ever a true surplus, then the national debt would go down.

The national debt did not go down one year during the Clinton administration.
That's right. It didn't go down, it stayed the same, until the Republicans entered the picture led by GW Bush, increased the debt to what, by the time Obama had to pick up that bag of shit left by the GOP,at his feet.
What was that sum? Like a trillon fucking dollars?
Anyway

    • Mitt Romney railed on GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump in a major address Thursday, calling him a "phony," "fraud," "con man," and "fake."

"Let me put it plainly," he said. "If we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished."

Romney's speech came as the Republican establishment grows increasingly worried about the growing possibility of a Trump nomination. It was delivered two days after Trump scored a dominating victory in the Super Tuesday series of primaries and caucuses.

Romney's speech — remarkable in that the party's most recent nominee was launching an unprecedented assault against its current frontrunner — went after Trump's business history, policy proposals, and fitness for office.

Listing many of Trump's previous businesses, like Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, and the controversial Trump University, Romney said Trump wasn't a "business genius."

After then speaking about a remark Trump made on "60 Minutes," in which Trump said the US should let ISIS overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad, Romney called Trump's foreign policy "reckless."

"Donald Trump tells us that he is very, very smart," Romney said. "I'm afraid that when it comes to foreign policy he is very, very not smart."

"Here's what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," Romney said.

"His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University," he continued. "He's playing the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat."

its funny hearing liberals bash bush and the debt when they enjoyed it so much they voted in a guy who increased it more than all previous presidents combined.

Bush cut taxes for the rich, crashed the global economy and got America into Iraq and Afghanistan

Obama cleaned house when he got into office and reduced the deficit by more than any other president in history, and finished what Bush couldn't with two whole terms; killed Osama Bin Laden

Furthermore, it's the tax and economic policies you support that increase the national deficit/debt

Dumbass. Bush ran up a deficit, ballooned the national debt and a Democrat was called in to fix it. Nobody can decrease the debt until the deficit goes back to the surplus we enjoyed under Bill Clinton. Trump wants to go back to Bush era deficits.

You keep saying there was a surplus under clinton but the debt still increased? How does that work?

Q: During the Clinton administration was the federal budget balanced? Was the federal deficit erased?

A: Yes to both questions, whether you count Social Security or not.

FULL ANSWER

This chart, based on historical figures from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, shows the total deficit or surplus for each fiscal year from 1990 through 2006. Keep in mind that fiscal years begin Oct. 1, so the first year that can be counted as a Clinton year is fiscal 1994. The appropriations bills for fiscal years 1990 through 1993 were signed by Bill Clinton’s predecessor, George H.W. Bush. Fiscal 2002 is the first for which President George W. Bush signed the appropriations bills, and the first to show the effect of his tax cuts.

Oh yea, by the way, do you notice when the country STARTED TO GO DOWN THE SHITTER? I wonder who was President then? Take a guess.

I said the DEBT went up. Meaning we owed more money year after year.

That is not some made up shit, it is the facts.

Take a moment and imprint that cause it is the truth.

you are confusing debt with deficit/surplus.

congress passes a budget for X dollars. let's say 1Trillion. let's say clinton spent 800billion. so now there is a 200b surplus. if he spend 1.1T, then there would be a deficit of 100b.

the debt is still going up because let's say we only take in 900b vs the 1T budget. so we are constantly spending more than we take in.

I am not confusing anything. My statement was that the DEBT has gone up year after year regardless of who is in office. My point is that neither political party is helping the situation.

Constantly spending way more than the insanely high budget

you asked how it worked. i answered. if you werent' confused, why did you ask?

clinton did help the situation by spending less than he was budgeted. w did not by spending way more than he was budgeted. and obama got 3T worth of debt from iraq from w. thanks alot!
