this is a simple tutorial with pictures of a micro bagseed grow , to show the fellow newbies how easy it is too keep your seedlings under 3 inches all the way into the second node!
well guess what! weak lights is not an excuse ..... i do grows with micro 8 watt florescent tubes and 21 watt CFL lights, and my seedlings are not even 2 inches tall and already have thick stems and are on their second nodes with the first true leaves large and in charge!
how? simple , take the stems of the new born seedlings and bend them gently so they are bent straight over with the soil..... come back in a day or so when the plant has started groing upwards again and bury that length of the stem in the soil.....come back and do it again....then cut the starter leaves off and bury up too the first set of true leaves...BANG you have successfully saved your seedlings from wasting a whole foot on stem space! ....now your seedlings should grow much more bushy and stay much shorter. ive even seen a reduction in inter node length threw ought the whole veg just by doing this during the first few weeks.
NOTICE how the plants have changed spots from me burying the stems....those buried stems grow roots and become roots!
( pics of whole process attached... )
