OK well to start thanks for dropping by and I guess you thought the title was catchy too. Or maybe it's just bc I'm high lol anyways I have pretty much everything I need to start my first grow as far as I know but that's why I'm here. So let's start

Well I'm going to be growing 2 plants but 2 different strains. 1 is c99 and the other is og ghost train haze #1. They will be grown in a 5 gallon dwc setup.

To start the seeds I was planning to use an aerogarden from germination until transplant into the dwc. Does this sound like an ok idea? I do have rockwool if necessary

After transplant into the dwc using hydroton as the medium it will be placed in the grow closet. It is a 2x2 closet wrapped in plastic and mylar. For lighting I'm using a 220 watt California light works solarflare. Should this be sufficient? As far as ventilation I have a noctua 140 mm pc fan and a noctua 10x44 mm (I think it's 44 but it might be 40). I think I messed up getting the second one but that's why I shouldn't shop high lol can I still use it?

For testing water I have an Oakton ph meter and a blue labs commercial tds/ec/ppm meter. For temps I have a hygrometer. Last but not least I have the 3 cycle advanced nutrients ph perfect line.

Sorry if this was long and scattered but I wanted to be thorough. Am I missing anything? Are these materials and seeds pretty good quality? Any and all advice and criticism is welcomed and thanks in advance.

I see you are not getting many or any replies. I think you would have better luck posting in the hydroponics forum. I would offer some info if I had any, I grow in HID. OOPS meant to say soil!. I am pretty medicated right now LOL!

However, I would like to offer 1 suggestion...read and research, you can never have too much cultivation knowledge.

Sounds like you got things pretty covered. That light will be sufficient, it's just a matter of how much you wanna grow and how much heat you can handle when it comes to a light. I started with only 168w of CFL's in my 5 gal dwc bucket and still pulled 3 oz's, the more light the more bud really. With that small of a closet an LED sounds like a good option, before moving into a tent in my cold basement i was running a 250w HID in my 2x4 closet with door always open and it got pretty warm in there. I don't know anything about LED's but I'm going to assume heat is more similar to CFL's than HID so with a 220w in that space I'd say you're pretty safe.

Are you saying you are going to run two plants in one 5 gal bucket? If so, don't do that, its just a waste of a seed in that sized space and being new it'll run you into problems, if one plants sick the other will be too. With one plant in a 5 gal dwc bucket you can easily cover a 3x3 area, let alone a 2x2 area.

I'm not familiar with the aerogarden but it sounds reasonable. I'd suggest Rapid Rooters over rockwool, being new and using rockwool isn't something I'd suggest, it's finicky. I just stick my seed in a moist(remember that, moist, not soaked) Rapid Rooter, set it on 1" of hydroton in netpot and let it do it's thing, hasn't failed me yet. I don't see any reason to mess around with papertowels and moving the seed around and whatnot.

As for fans, I just used two 6" clip on fans to blow air on plant and other one to blow air out of tent.

As for your equipment it sounds really good, you got some nice PH and EC meters. I use the shitty $20 PH pens and just replace em each grow. I use a $25 HM Digital Aquapro EC meter and it works fantastic, never needs to be calibrated and has worked solid for a year straight with heavy use. If you can still return your expensive EC meter I suggest it, save the money and get the same one i use for $25, it reads hanna ppm so you can convert it to EC easily. I don't suggest using my shitty PH meter though haha

One last thing I'd suggest is running some Hydroguard/Aquashield, or other beneficial bacteria product(depending on country products vary) to help keep your roots healthy and prevent root rot.

Do you think I have room? I would like to pull 4-5 oz off each but it's for personal use so that's just a goal (I like to aim high). Welcome! As for room, if you meant 2x2 as in 2 feet than yes you could fit two buckets side by side but you'd be better off just running one bucket. Less maintance and same results. With just some LST you can easily fill that 2x2 area with one plant with only a 1 month veg. Look at my journal in my sig, that plant fills my 3x3 tent, 1 bucket, 1 month veg under 250w. Before i upgraded my light i was only planning on 4-6 oz total with having experience in dwc.

If you only plan on having 1 220w light than you'll be quite disappointed with that goal. To achieve that you'd have to be really good with two high yeilding strains. I'd say aim for 4-5 oz total. If you have 2 220w led's than you could aim for than but you'd have to do everything right.

Or use hydrogen peroxide every 3-4 days

Anon nailed it for you, run 1 DWC at a time 4-5oz is doable, and you could also supplement with CFLs, Put in 2 cheap lamps. LST will help you get much more quality dense buds.

Well here is my dilemma... I made a comprise with my wife that I had to grow a cinderella 99 too if I grew but the gth is for me so I'm kinda stuck lol do you think a shorter veg time might work for 2?

As creeper said also, yeah on side lighting. I never looked into those strains but even if they are, in a 2x2 space the plants will start covering each other and just kinda cancel each other out. I mean you could say that running two would require less plant training maintenance per plant but then it'd require more res maintenance so yeah.

C99 is a popular strain from what i've seen, really short flower time is what i remember. As for shorter veg, ehh maybe you could save a week but that depends on how the strains your growing react. For example my original amnesia, i flipped 12/12 at 3 weeks but it wasn't mature enough to start flowering until 3 weeks later. My other grows i flipped at 4 weeks and it started flowering in 1 week. So it kinda depends if the plants mature enough or not. In other words even at the shortest yet still optimal time to go 12/12 you'll be able to use 1 plant to fill the space so not really any gain running two in that space.

If you can make the space bigger and get a bigger light than do that if you want more. If anything just make the space bigger, more space means more space for buds!

I also have 6 og ghost train haze #1, 1 moonshine ghost train, 7 pineapple express, 1 mango sapphire, 1 tango automatic, 1 maple leaf x black domina, 2 blue cindy, 1 cookie kush, 3 white walker kush, 1 sugar black rose F1 fast version, and last but not least 1 Northern lights X big bud. I want to do the gth bc that's what I originally ordeed first. My wife agreed to let me grow that one. It's supposed to be a 2 strongest strain on earth winner so I'm stoked to give it try. Would you recommend any of the other strains to try next?

Danm nice collection. I have a buddy who grows for medicine and he grows for highest of quality and i had some of his Ghost Train Haze and holy fuck thats some good shit. I havn't grown any of those tho so can't really suggest. My current grow should actually be Pineapple Express but i lost the seedling to root rot, thats why I am growing a freebie seed cuz i was worried about getting rot again.
