does underfeeding affect bud size?

as with all newbies i used to overfeed my plants and after sometime (and the help of this forum) i discovered that i could feed less BUT recently i've been keeping my A & B to a minimum and am now wondering how that affects overall bud size.

for example, in bloom, after a flush in a 150 litre recirculating DWC i'm feed my plants 100ml big bud, 100ml explode, 75ml bud factor x, 20ml calmag plus, 10 ml silicon, and 100ml A & B. the leaves are a little light for my liking but the girls look nice and healthy.

about 5 days or o later the ppm's drop as they feed and to keep my ppm's low i'll normally feed A & B at say 30ml and the other nutes listed above at the same strengths. then when i hot the 2 week mark i flush and start again.

i'm wondering if i'm using enough A & B in the ratio and if that is affecting my bud size? i've been doing it this way o long that i don't really know any different.

in my grow the leaves in bloom are quite light green, whereas in veg they're a very dark green. i'm thinking that the buds are taking up the nutes too so logic says i need to increase the nutes of overall and all-round improvement. i think the 'less is more' advice is great to begin with but i feel i'm now in a position to read my plants hence my question

Yes, I was trying to skimp on nutes last grow, idk why I didn't know much and everyone was saying I should. Smaller plants came out more dank and tastier then the big ones. I was talking to about about this today actually when we were smoking it, he agreed. Funny you mention it after I just discussed it

Also using advanced at half strength will fuck up the ph after a couple days. It won't be perfect at all. It might go in okay but only half the ph buffers are there when u mix it at half. Sounds like your using advanced nutes?

Does under eating effect your size?

Your ratio's sound low - get out the feed charts and figure it out for the products you use!
I would for a recirculating, start at 1/2 strength from the feed charts and raise it by 5% as needed to "find" my sweet spot...

Never change to "Bloom" nutes till AFTER the stretch! Say 2 weeks after the lighting flip.

There's my 2 cents

More N longer into bloom - Don't start "bloom" feeds till after the stretch.

Keep your P increase to "real" levels to prevent early leaf yellowing. When yellow, they don't photosynth as well as nice healthy green leaves!

IF you must smack your plants with big #'s of P&K.....wait till week 5-6 and hit them once.....MAYBE again at the next feed but NO MORE or NOT earlier!

Dial in your grow method and products smoothly - see my post above again.

Sorry to jump in, I fed bloom and PK boost as soon as I saw pistils. And have been giving bloom and boost ever since. I'm at 6 weeks in flower now and my buds are not what I'd like them to be.

I think you might find if your not doing it already is when you flip to flower keep using whatever Grow feed you use a few weeks longer before you start a bloom feed you might find your growth staying a nice green longer.
As far as it being a little too pale right now while it could be lacking in N it could also be starting to show the effects of too much Bloom and they are headed toward yellowing out.

OK, the thing here is your expecting too much too soon.

Buds form and grow to a "running" size till (strain dependent) about week 6.....At that point is when the "BULKING" phase begins and you will see over the next few weeks till finish that the buds will REALLY build up size and weight. The more and fastest growth comes the closer to harvest.

This is where the "extra" P&K actually DO the work many nutrient makers say their high P&K amounts do from the flip, which, for the most part, is simply hype! This extra high P&K shit used by them tends to make your plant yellow out to soon and cause lost size and yield!

You don't say what you use or how much/how often. I'll say this. The way your plants look, you haven't really overused the given P&K to levels of tox. Nicely done!

Be patient!

P.S.
Defoliation, the way it looks you did it = makes for smaller buds!

Can't begin to tell you how much your post has eased my mind lol. Really hope it does what you say.

I'm feeding pound shop nutes lol hydro Coco grow, bloom and PK boost. Right now I'm just giving bloom and PK boost at a rate of 2ml per litre of water for bloom (packaged instructions) and 1.5ml PK boost per litre of water (packaged instructions) and there both getting that shared. So 500mls each every 3 to 4 days depending on how long it takes to dry out.

Also I pH my water to 6.5 using distilled white vinegar after I've added my nutes.

Next feeding and one time - use say,,um,,,,triple the suggested amount of PK boost and see what bulking is about!
