So how big would you let a plant get before removing it from a 16 oz solo cup...I'm having an argument with a friend and he said I could let my plants go for awhile longer and I'm saying no...I can't upload a pic but if anyone has a pic or description of a plant at the max size you would let it grow to before removing it please let me see or know..thanks a bunch

I don't have a guideline for how big the plant is but pop the rootball out of the cup and see if it is well established but not rootbound, at a minimum roots should be protruding through the drainage holes.

Once I see established growth. 3-4 nodes. Watch it explode when you move to bigger pot and feed after transplant stress is gone.

If your doing soil, I wouldn't feed until 2-4 weeks after transplant. The soil already contains the nutrients it needs for the next 2-4 weeks.

You have to take a look it isn't optimal but it is part of learning the strain. Some strains have very robust root systems, Green Crack springs to mind. If you root bound her you will be sad.

I transplant about now,
The growth is all good and they drink that cup dry every day.
Pain in the ass so its time
Jeezzz...I never let them get that big lol...but like me Juana said it has a lot to do with the strain....I guess it wouldn't be too big of a deal to take it outa the cup and check. ..I wish I could upload a pic and shoe u guys the size of em...I will get it up soon

I wait until I gotta water it everyday which is maybe 3 weeks from seed or longer. When it can't go 2 days without water the roots will have pretty much filled it out. Char face has the right idea; I used to try & do it earlier but once I broke a tap root because the root ball split in half which stunted the shit out of my Rolex OG plant. Now I wait until the roots have become one solid mass. A neat trick is to sprinkle granular mycorrizea in the hole & directly on the roots at transplant which will help make explosive growth once it bites. Squeezing some aloe on the root ball helps make it stick.

Last night I experimented with some rooting powder on a transplant. Wanna see how that goes (reveg actually)
