Get 2-5.886" heatsinks from heatsinkusa.com at 32", put 4 cxb3590's/cxb3070's on each, add 2 140mm fans on both bars (4 total) run each bar on an hlg240h-c1750b and vuahlah.
Heatsinks: $100,
Cobs:$320/$250
Drivers:$150 APV12-12x2(for fans)$10
Parts:$40

You could do hlg185h-c1400b's for $80 if you wanted. ($40 ec)

I am from Portugal so.. everything outside UE cost 30%+. The price of this lights is 500€ delivered directly from their website. The pacific cost 640€+ 30% and i don't think they ship to Portugal. There's an italian guy selling AMARE on europe but it's 2x the price they sell them on US. I am pretty much stuck with this, northerngrow that i believe are from uk, and grownorthern that are also from uk and are launching new line this summer. DIY is not an option.

does anyone now if tasty or pacific ship over seas? they should be in here anyway, they are the smart ones.
 
I have a 2'x2' grow area. I'm currently using 2 led marshydro 300w (60x5) for the grow area. Should I stick with these or swap to something else to get a bigger yield?

But yeah, been thinking if you should run veg and flower led's at the same time throughout the grow cycle. Haven't seen much discussion about it.

definitely run both switches. I doubt anyone here would say that's not a good idea.

....I still think you have room for another light in a 3x3 =þ

When I get the light next week, i'll post some pics with my HPS still in place - we'll see who's right ;)

But, wont the P4-XML2 outperform the 400W hps either way? When it comes to spectrum, PAR etc? From what i've read, it equates to a 600W hps when it comes to light.

Another question, how is the penetration of the leds, will buds below the canopy be lacking?

that's a odd price range for LED's

on one hand you can get a lot of, lets say marshydro that will be ok

but you are a bit shy of the newer cob platfroms.

not this site of model, but they are only 315 watts and great spectrum.

all the other lights I would recommend are over $500

I would agree it would do better then a 400, based on CREE 10w XM-L2.
 
The reason i wanted to go LED was to not have to have a cooling fan and all that added into the system. If i go the DIY way, what COBS should i be getting and at what spectrum?

if you follow the current schematics floating around: you will have a full spectrum white light w/ 3500k-5000k cobs

there are some passive system, you will have to wait for one of the smart DIY guys to tell you what current/drivers and technical stuffs.

if you DIY it, you will meet budget and lighting requirements easy. but if your like me, you think you can do it, but are kinda scared to try it.

Maybe hang tight for the new veros. Looking for them in a month or two.

LEDs do run cooler but even the most efficient cobs give off heat. 600 watts of Cree 3070 is the same as running a 300 watt heater.
