hi
i just got a passive closed loop system .....for the last 3 weeks this is all i have worked on
the freezing is very important .......the colder the better (just know dry ice and denatured alc is the best -109f)
freezing the plant materal while holding the butane on it ....is the most effective way to strip off the oil but lock up the chlorophyll in the icecrystals (the buds and trim still have some moisture in the cells when this freeze it keeps the pigments from getting stiped off)
doing this while the system starts under vacuum is even better as the butane comes over as liguid not gas needing to reform .......the cold helps this too
now soaking the plant materal is all well and goof but to long those crystals will get bigger and water will come out with your oil (this is what i learned) 10 20 mins about the maximum u want to let it set( 5 10 mins once the tank is emptied in) gives u time to weight the tank see what was taken out make sure all of it was then open it up zero it out and then revac the tank for recovery
u should get some light amber to nearly clear oil done right
please correct me if i am wrong
