1600w 5x10 multi strain grow Oxygen Genetics take 1

Hey guys, I started one of these before and never really followed up with it, things came up etc etc. This time I'm back, new grow, new goals, new strains, and maybe a new beginning.

For starters I'm Exotic, old gamertag from Xbox just stuck. A buddy and myself had the idea for Oxygen Genetics from our old days of playing Forza Motorsports on Xbox, where we ran a team called Oxygen Racing. o2R for short. The goal here is to gain the collective knowledge and experience growing, to both breed and grow top shelf quality cannabis, while being as efficient as possible. IE with electricity, I plan on building my own COB based LED lights for flower to replace the 1k HPS setups at about half the watts. That should also be less heat, therefore I run my A/C less or even just use CO2 and no A/C if possible.

So what you'll see here is one half of the show, my trial and errors, experiments, etc. I've been growing about 2 years now, with help of much more experienced growers too. So on to what I'm working with as of now.

The Space
I have a 5x10 flower tent, a 4x4 veg tent, and a little closet space with my cloner. I'm hopefully going to take the 5x10 down in hopes of building a bigger space in my basement, and up the lighting a bit. The 5x10 is running a 1k hps and a 600w hps on 12/12 until I can upgrade the electrical and switch to 240v. The 4x4 uses a 8 bulb t5 with 3 Hortilux full spectrum T5's and the rest regular veg spectrum T5's from HTG. The cloner is covered by a 4 bulb T5, which is overkill but all i have still. I'll probably move that out and put 2 CFL's in there.

Cloner
I run my cloner with a chiller, water is set at 63-66F PH 5.8-6.0 and I've only lost 2 plants in 2 years so far. I did burn the shit out of this round with to much light, which you can see in a later video. It's just an old EZ clone 30 site unit.

Soil
I'm using My M3 Michigan made mix, with just plain PH'd water and about 5ML of Cal-Mag per gallon. It has been great for my seedlings and veg plants. They don't need food for at least 6 weeks, unless I find a big time eater.

Nutes
My nutrient line is Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow, so I use the Grow, Bloom, Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag, Silica Blast, Hydroplex, and Pure Blend Tea. I do have their "Sweet" but stopped using it last year, been to lazy to buy more, and I wanted to see a difference with the same strains with/without.

Water
Just my plain old city tap, usually around 7.5ph or higher at times :/ I have 5 gallon water cooler jugs to mix my flower nutes in, as it 1 whole jug to water the entire 5x10 and then some. I'd say they get watered every 4 days, with avg heat at 77 and Humidity avg about 40%

It can be, well to be fair really it's a full time job on top of a full time job lol. Ideally I'd like to run 3 1k lights to be perpetual, and swap 1 out at a time with an LED, and compare back to back results. Hell I even want to switch over to all DWC, and scrog in place.

Opted to scrap all the clones this time, the light burning them seems like way to much stress. So I'll replace the stuff I don't have and keep on going. Lesson learned, T5's can still burn plants! I have roots on 3, all still super small. I know there are some there I could keep etc. But after 30 days almost I'll give it a good cleaning and let it air dry for the next batch.

Had to pull the Mystery Kush today, mid term Herm... So of the 2 I put down, 1 turned out male and 1 herm'd. I was told they were Feminized too, oh well free is free. Now I need to get some YoYo's to hold these girls up.

I have started to add Liquid Karma to my water for these plants, half dose. They seem to have loved it, plus I have the 3 Hortilux full spectrum T5's with the others just being Agromax or w/e veg bulbs. Temps are just right with the 8 bulb in the 4x4. Going to try my first whack at clones in a dome, always used a cloner.

The Ultimate one of her "smaller" top nugs in the back corner, smells very widow esk. Another one I want to re veg for sure.


And a shot of Blue Cheese, I've noticed almost all of my girls needed to be lillipopped more, and a much more even canopy would have been nice. So I'll be working on training them a bit better, and slowly try to perfect my lollipopping, I felt like I took a shit load off last time no less.

I took some clones after getting things setup, I've had a dome laying around for years and never used it. So in an effort to save some electricity I grabbed a heat mat and temp controller, to go with the new TekTwo 2ft T5 I got with points from HTG, 10 lumens .5A and 110w. Beats the 4 bulb T5 I had in here before, it was a bit overkill.


So some bud porn now! We are at day 62 now as I write this, day 61 I cut a few buds off to check things out.

And here is the Blue Mystic, we will be harvesting today as much as I can. Doing wet trim, so the goal is 4-6 plants for Saturday and another 4-6 Sunday, a few look like they could stand the extra 2-3 days.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys and gals, been pretty busy lately. We have 6 more girls to cut down and trim today, and on a side note I did end up having cross pollination from the mystery kush that herm'd. I put her outside not really thinking like a dummy, and didn't kill it off. So about half of my girls got seeds, meh...

So I've been lazy and have not done weights or anything yet, it's not all dry, let alone cut down. Space issues on the drying racks lol. Not a horrible problem to have really. Next round of girls are in the flower tent, only going to use the 1k light this time. Going to take some clones in about a week, and hopefully be on track to fill the tent next time round.

I'll also be headed to the MIchigan Cannabis Cup June 11th to snag up some new genetics, which I plan to plant right away. Hoping to get 3 or 4 new strains from Ocean Grown. I'll probably be doing VIP and walking around all day smoking some pre packed cones of all of my stuff that's dry and ready from this recent harvest!

On to the pic, 1 for now. Just plopped the girls, well I hope all girls in the 5x10. I do hang quarters on some of these after they were pinched and had new tops growing, so I'm curious to see how they all end up. Some did manage to pop 3 new mains after the pinch, which seems kinda cool.
