Auto's supposedly dont yeild as much and are "inferior" lol. Thats what everyone will tell you. I seem them as ease. Great for new growers like my self. Somewhat forgiving. Its also cool to watch the plant do it all by its self.

I'll probably give it a shot sometime. I just like the control you have regarding photos.

OK so since I am obviously using an inferior soil for all of my plants. My question now is can I rinse off my plants roots and re-plant them into better soil? Since they are no older than 2 weeks would this be an ideal thing to do?

You don't necessarily want to rinse the roots, as you'll stress the plant. Transfer it into a bigger pot but use your next choice if soil instead of your current one. Your little ones are at least looking good so far, so don't be discouraged. I'd remove that tin foil, though.

I just started some tester plants in Dr. Earth Soil because I see so many people asking for a soil they can buy at WalMart/HomeDepot type places. I did add a pinch of perlite to it. They are only seedlings right now, but I can at least attest to the fact that it wont do anything crazy like burn your seedlings or anything. I'm going to see how long they can go before the nutrients in the soil run out, but right now it seems just as good as FoxFarm or any of the bagged stuff I have run into in the past.

It is man. They make all different types to. I LOVE this soil. Ill be switching all my soil when I get the chance.....If you have dogs keep it away though. they will dig and tear into the bags lol.

I know there is still nutes in my soil. Its supposed to feed up to 3months i believe. The Bat Guano chunks are HUGE lol. I also have the doctor earth fert. I pre mix it into the soil also. ONTOP of my foxfarm nutes.....The most nute burn i have had is the very very tips burning thats it. nothing crazy.

If you can get some of that promix or sunshine and mix some composted cow manure in it, all you will need to do is water. It will be a lot less stressful in the long run. Or you can use it to mix up some super soil but you will need to let it sit for a month to get the micro food web going. I would do 2 parts manure one part sunshine or promix and one part perlite.
when i first got into this i asked a old guru about making my own soil that would last as long as i needed....he sends me this

Sounds like a good recipe. I didn't see a cooking time. I would moisten it and let it sit for a month then give it a stir and let that sit for another month before using it.

You should nix the co2 for now. You don't have enough light for co2. Save that stuff for flowering and when you have more light.
