Bud structure is night and day. Same sized buds pretty much in the day 20 CMH vs the day 35 HPS
Can I foliar CaNO3 or not worth it?
Both fruity chronic cookies showing Ca deficiency. And one is showing N def. Gave them both 0.4EC of CaNO3 (1.5g/gal) and 0.8EC 5-11-26 (3g/gal) and the usualy epsom salt and MKP dosage.
But ive been having the pH 6.0+ and been doing res changes every 4 to 5 days on the ones under HPS and only adjusting once between then. Cant quit confirm its due to nute shortage or lack of maintenance.
GSCH #3 is good. Showing slight tip burn from concentration rising towards last gallo or so and the buds are growing whispy. Think its too warm under those lights. Need to put the AC in I think before these are done.
GSCH #2 is showing N def. but GSCH#1 isnt.
Gave them 1.5g/gal CaNO3 as well.
My nutes are as follows;
In Veg;
3g/gal calcium nitrate
2g/gal 5-11-26 mix (I make a stock solution with 200g/gal strength and use some of this. Highly recommended to do so)
.5g/gal of epsom salt
In bloom, AFTER the first 2-3 weeks of transition;
.25g/gal of MKP
POSSIBLY dial calcium nitrate down to 2g/gal
I'm not saying anyone's is 'right or wrong', I'm sharing my ratios in an effort to help narrow down problems and inform our choices.
Yes, they love it; calcium isn't mobile so it gets right to where is needed and N transports it into the leaf where it can be adsorbed.
I have the way you do it. Well it seems to have changed a bit.
You told me .5g/gal MKP. You also told me 1.5g/gal epsom but have since told me .5g/gal.
Do you cut out epsom after 2-3 week transition now or did you just forget to include it?
My stock solution is 100:1 at 2g/gal. I followed your directions.
And I hear ya. Not saying youre wrong either.
Im just experimenting. Many ways to grow these plants and each plant and setup is different.
Now that warmer weather is here I need to feed less cause plants drinking more water to stay cool and throwing off my feed. Instead of topping off everyday my solution is to feed less. It works as I dont do top offs.
Avoid the buds tho? Can I use like a traditional cheap spray bottle?
pH 5.6 to 5.8? Ca isnt available past 5.8 or is that just for root uptake?
I just posted the alterations made between veg and bloom, sorry for any confusion.
I bumped the epsom salt, noticed it fucked shit up, did some reading, and reduced it to the current level. Good catch!
The guy who recommended MKP to me said to use .25-.5g/gal. I've been using the low end. You can bump it, but for me it started pushing pH down in peak bloom, counterproductive!
I'd push your foliar pH up past 7.5 or you'll be inviting powdery mildew.
I wouldn't use this spray past the halfway mark of bloom, so spraying budsites is fine.
My water is 10pH starting. When I mix its about 5.9-6.2 depending on the ratios I used.
Ive been adding 1.5g MKP starting week 3 for my 5gal buckets that only hold 3gal.
Maybe ill just pass then. I really dont want to be getting mold and im heading into week 4 tomorrow. I really need these to do well. Like 8oz per atleast. Not a big yielding strain. Thats only 0.7gpw though. Not too impressive. Outgrowing my screen probably didnt help any.
How long do you keep running it? All the way thru?
Just keep opening the plant up so it gets maximum light not just at the tips, but all up and down the spears. Worked super well for me.
Till week 7. Couple weeks before flower.
Not sure what you mean. I got about a dozen tops out of my screen. No budsites below screen.
They are packing for a gsc cross. I need better yielders though.
Uh, you mean chop?
Are you supposed to use till chop?
Meh. Oh well. Ill try it put this run.
I'm just talking about spreading the plant out for maximum lighting. If this doesn't apply to your situation, I understand- after all, I'm not standing there looking at it so I don't know if it's helpful advice or not!
MKP is 0-52-32, or just over half phosphorus and a third potassium. Why would you use it in veg and not in bloom?
For that matter, how did it work? Lol
