And I just thought of another example, there are people doing Yoga all over America every day and calling it exercise.

But there are also Christians that call Yoga Satanic, but the mainstream American is usually more Hindu than Christian, they just don't even realize what Hinduism is because they automatically think of Cows or Caste, but it's really about life.

And look at Marriages. Everyone in America that gets married usually has to get a diamond of some sort. And 98% of the worlds diamonds are carved in one town in India, because diamond carving comes from Hinduism. Then have you heard of all the Chocolate diamonds and different colored diamonds. Colored diamonds have been a part of Hinduism for thousands of years.

Diamond wedding rings in America are a product of De Beers marketing.

And the idea of exchanging rings comes from Mitra, which is a Hindu God and a Zoroastrian God. He is the God of Contracts and Promises.

Lol.
So because one God has an elephant head and another God is a guy that everyone thinks is a girl when they first see him, that makes it somehow the same as the other Religions?

Hinduism comes from India, and India is the only society that has existed for 4,500 years without being interrupted by invaders or an empire. To even compare Christianity and Hinduism directly is to not understand anything about Hinduism. Hindu is more like saying Abrahamic. It is the basis of various Religions, not just some other Religion that is like Christianity, Islam or Judaism, those are all pretty much the same Religion.

And I'm not saying you have to understand anything about Hinduism, Hindus don't Proselytize.

Aren't there many parallels between early Hindu stories and old testament stories? Seems like a fairly direct comparison from what I've read.

What have you read?

Try reading the Rig Veda, that is the oldest Hindu text in the world. It's all about Burning offerings, Horse Racing, Grass, Spices, and Well Being, and mainly Gods. It's not even about specific people.

I think I might be getting stuff mixed up, I've been drinking and like I said, it's been years since I actively, informally studied, any religion. I kinda remember something about a very similar flood storie to Noah's, but much, much earlier, maybe it's Buddhist texts, and something about, I forget his name, a wild beast man. ...Gilgamesh..might be spelled wrong. .somehow relating to a biblical story, or stories?

I've read more Buddhist writings than Hindu, I worked with some Cambodians that were Buddhist and we talked religion and philosophy on different occasions, so I was reading it at that time. Dev, an Indian I worked with was a minister of his own church, he was Hare Krishna. He taught me much about patiences, through our conversations. Mainly trying to understand him when he got excited, lol. I always thought they were just guys in robes at airports with weird hair.

Weedfreak...I agree, Islam, Christianity and Judaism all are pretty similar in their fairy tale.I don't think Hinduism or Buddhism are though...I also think its possible that there were previous ~ Bronze age, industrial revolution , current technologies as well... Think if the shit hit the fan tomorrow.. Everyone would start back at square one within a couple decades..their stories would be passed on by the survivors and simply become just stories within a couple hundred years.

More about Hinduism and diamonds

Diamonds are pretty much unbreakable, which is what makes them so useful. They are used on the tips of tools so that etchings can be made in rocks, or metal. But the main thing that people think of when they think of a Diamond are the facets. Diamond cutting is about getting all the right angles so that the light is most utilized and shines out in all directions as much as possible. This comes from Hindu tradition. You can see the same idea in a Rudraksha bead. A Rudraksha bead is meant to symbolize Shiva's Eyes, the word for Diamond in Sankrit is Vairja which is the same word for lightning bolt, and lightning is associated with the God Indra. The Vairja is important to both Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vajra

This is a Rudraksha Seed, you can see it has many faces just like a diamond.

Ancient Hindu scriptures mention eight types of diamonds
1. Hanspati: transparent white color like a conch,
2. Kamlapati: transparent pinkish white, like lotus petal.
3. Vajraneel: transparent blue-white, like the color of the neck of a blue jay,
4. Vanaspati: transparent green-white, like fresh blade of grass,
5. Shyamvajra: transparent smoky-grey color
6. Telia: oily,and dark color.
7. Sanloyi: yellow-green or pale green color,

This ritual object is known as a Vairja, and it is meant to represent lightning and diamonds.

Gilgamesh is from Iraq, Zoroastrianism.

And Buddhists are almost a form of Hindu, but it is its own Religion. Buddha sitting in his meditation pose looks just like Shiva. And a few other Buddhist Gods are like Hindu Gods. And Siddhartha (Buddha) was a Hindu who turned the wheel of Dharma.

Tourmaline deposits are in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka (Ceylon), and the United States (California and Maine). Several African countries have recently become big producers of gem Tourmaline, specifically Madagascar, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Malawi.
