Heat trouble...

I have 2 600 watters. They are air cooled with a 420 cfm fan drawing air from outside through them and into the exhaust room.
I have a 5x9 tent. I'm running a 14000 btu portable ac.

The lights are not hot to the touch. I can hold my finger on the cool tube.

So when lights are out the tent is 67. When lights came on it shot up to 88.
Wtf? If they ate already cool to the touch what else can I do.

i onced used cool tubes don't need em as they are a wast of money if u have your tent set up right u should be able to suck hot air from every inch of ya growtent my light free swing from the top of my tent with zero heat issues

Are you exhausting air, pulling air in, or both?

If you're only exhausting hot air from your tent you have to have cool air coming in from somewhere. The negative air pressure created by your high CFM fan should allow for passive intake from a hole near the bottom of the tent. If you're intaking air too then I have no clue.

If the ambient temp is high then its very hard to keep the temps low.
88 deg is ok its just for summer . If it gets over 95 turn one light off for that day.

I bring in outdoor air. My ac keeps a negative pressure and exhausts unto a seperately room.
Only thing I can think is to draw tent air through the lights and see if that helps.

But if I'm at 67 on an 89 degree day that's not bad. It's the lights adding 21 degrees when they come on

The ac is working constantly. It makes the exhaust room 100+.

I'm thinking that the lights being cool to the touch means there isn't anything I can really do.
Perhaps it's just the light rays converting to heat and there really isn't anyway to do anything.
Only thing to try now is take the intake side duct off and pull the cooler tent air through and see if that helps...

2 x400w for summer and the 2x 600 for the rest of the year if things get worse. You can simply put 2 400w hps lamps in same sockets using the 600w ballasts.

I could drop to one light. But damn that defeats the whole purpose of having 1200 .

This sucks. I'm at the limit of available amperage too so another ac is not an option

The struggle is real. I just cut a hole in my wall to put a window unit thru it. I had the portable AC and it was just keeping the room hot from the hose running out.

I've got it down to about 76-82 with lights on. But there are hotter days ahead.....
