new to dwc hydro. plant is 4 weeks old..how much did you pull off your first dwc grow?

I have been growing a few years now and have recently got frustrated with the yields that are achievable growing in soil so have made the progression to hydro...i have a dwc bubbler set up and i took a dinafem deep cheese plant which has been growing about 3 weeks now.
my question is firstly any advice too a newbie hydro grower and what was the first yield you guys had on your first hydro grow any pics welcome20160717_230624_001.jpg 20160717_230626.jpg 20160717_230631.jpg ....all feedback appreciated.

I don't really remember how much my first grow yielded...guessing around 2-3 oz off of 2 plants...but I think it is general consensus that in hydro if you get anything on your first grow it should be considered a success.

Your plant looks a little stretchy so you might consider lowering the light a little bit. Your roots also look a little dark so just make sure they are getting plenty of air, you have no light leaks into the rez, and your rez temps are not too high. I like to use hydroguard to help keep the root zone healthy. You might consider topping at the 3rd node which will help increase yield and will only slightly lengthen the time to veg. You can also use the top you cut off and try to clone it.

All in all you are doing good for your 1st grow in hydro.

Thx spookbud appreciate the advice man....am sharing the tent with other flowering plants so will have to raise it on a stump to get it closer to the light...its eighty in the tent at the mo so am guessing water will be warm will this really affect the grow?
I am keeping the ph ppm and EC on track...thx again for the help..

Well if it is already in flowering that explains the stretch and it is too late to top it then. Water temps are really important in hydro both for root health and also for the amount of oxygen the water is capable of holding. Higher temps will make you more prone to develop problems such as the dreaded brown slime. Hydroguard or another beneficial bacteria will help combat this and it is also one of the cheapest additives I have purchased. Some people like to go the sterile route and add H202 to the rez but this will also kill the naturally occurring beneficial bacteria so I don't recommend that. Most people think that the best temp for a rez is around 65-68F. At this temp the oxygen capacity of the water is ideal and harmful bacteria have a hard time taking hold in a cooler rez. To keep it cool you can freeze water bottles and add them to the rez a couple times a day.

Water temps are 75 f have put some water on ice the temps are really high here in the UK at the mo am hoping temps reduce in the. Coming days will take all your advice to heart spookbud and keep on top of this grow...thx man:weed:

It's not in flower all the other plants are really a lot higher than the dwc at the mo as they are in flower so the light is high in the tent....

There all autos on an 18/6 cycle...auto ultimate autoxtreme auto mazar all by dutch passion seed bank and Moby dick xxl by dinafem there about a week out from harvest.got three green crack by humbolt seeds waiting in the wings there a soil grow. So the next round three green crack and the dwc all photoperiod...

Trying out a few new ones: blue hash and sour jack...and also growing white widow X big bud for edibles

I have only grown in DWC. I used Nugbuckets mainlining technique last grow and had good results so am going to try that again.

Autos are awesome quick turn around and the yeilds are comparable to photoperiods. These days...I grow about 80% autos 20 photoperiod... Anything by Dutch passion Dr kripplings or dinafem are great...give em a go mate:leaf::leaf::leaf:

Anything with the big bud genetics are generally pretty good should pack out your white widow nicely:weed:
I grew a incredible bulk by Dr kripplings which has big bud in it and it did a little over 3 oz in soil....bongsmilie

My plants were very unhappy in DWC. Had to transplant into Hempies after 6 weeks of battling problems... everything settled beautifully.

I guess if I run into problems in hydro I could do the same plant it into soil...thx for heads up...

I transplanted at week 6 of veg. Chopped most of the roots as I was battling rot so they only had about 2 inches left. Vegged for another 2 weeks to try and get their roots established. After around 7 days they had rooted out their 5 gallon buckets. They're about 7 weeks into flower now and they look really good.

Most of the advice I read at the time was to bin them and just start again... which I obviously didn't fancy doing! I hadn't seen anyone actually pull off a transplant out of DWC with root rot.
