maui wowie, pakalolo, kona gold. all are names for hawaiian weed. however, all strains are grown/can be grown in hawaii. it has super ideal conditions. hawaii's weed is of the highest quality (but as a result is often pricey)

when I smoked some maui wowi...it was definitely in my top 5...which I would expect for the price my friend got it for (500 an ounce).

i have some hawaiian indca thats crossed with big bud growin right now and i have smoked hawaiian indica and hawaiian skunk before and let me tell ya they were some dank dank buds i've also smoked maui wowi and some blueberry crossed with maui wowi both were very very good strains but check out my grow journal my hawaiian big bud is about 3 weeks old but i will be flowering it in probably another month i also have some great mids growing

...not really sure where the "Hawaiian" genetics from some seed banks come from, and most of the Maui Waui sold in smoke shops is not the real deal... from what I understand that strain went extinct a long time ago. The reason people say bud from hawaii is the best, is because it is! We get a UVB rating out here that is 2, 3, and sometimes 4 times what the mainland USA gets... I know some uncles that have grown for yearrrrrrrs, and their regular strains of white widdow, blueberry, and other ordinary regular names, have adapted and flourish out here in the extreme temperatures. Kona Gold is a great strain... but I live in kona town, and never have I seen seeds or clones for it...

A friend of mine came back last year from Kauai with a bunch of different seeds. He gave me two Maui x Master Kush seeds. They popped slower than all the other seeds I popped. One started off slightly retarded, but has seemingly corrected that. Both are rather short and bushy. Super stoked, I'll have to clone them both I case I get something amazing.

so i remember back around 2000 or so their was alot of this light light green fluffy herb that had a fruity smell and slightly metallic inhale....man i miss that stuff lol can anyone point me in the right direction?? i remember knowing at the time that what people refered to as hawaiian was big so i have a brain link and remember it as a strain called hawaiian but idk if that has any merit...

No but I've found some possibilities.. Got some huckleberry that is fluffy light green so possibly elemental huckleberry but it was missing the metal tang had the characteristic sweet smell though..DNA limited did a Hawaiian strain a while back that is sold out on attitude.. Snow high has a very expensive and forever out of stock strain called metal dragon I'd love to get ahold of..i grew a g13 freebie they never sold sour d x chronic and that had a killer lime green color and awesome smell but no metal in that one either. Paradise opium looks very light in color I've not grown it yet though. Then I found this golden goat while I was in Colorado and that has a hint of the same taste I'm looking for with its own very characteristic smell, really like that strain! Not the electric green but nice looking anyway..

Hard to say, plenty of phenotypes contain high levels of b.myrcene cannabinoids which is what your probably looking for. Did the bud look sativa ish? It was greenand fluffy with no other hues?

Any seed banks using vague strain names like "Hawaiian" or "Maui wowie" always raise red flags for me because that is basically a marketing term for random bagseed they got in Hawaii.
Hawaii has no landraces but we do have several nice strains that were bred in the islands...I.e. Skunkdog, Johnny D's, puna diesel, dirty widow, etc....
