Look up nanolux maxpar. It's a DE hps arc tube and chemistry in a SE package. Use a ballast that is 100mhz plus made for DE and you'll solve your problems.

Yeah no worries. I think i have a fair understanding of them at this point. Just waiting to hear back from some people with first hand experiences running vert..

Gavitas are by design a horizontal lamp.if your hell bent on vert look to the standard hps or cmh/lec or try some cob.i personally think led is at a disadvantage in a vert type grow being more of a flat light.round lamps just work better.but then again i think vert is just a hard way of growing horizontal lol

From what i'm reading they can be used vertically. Its just the horizontal market they are catering to.
