Ona gel or Ona block

Hey guys, when I grew 4 years ago my whole house smelled like weed. I was growing 2 big plants and that's why it smelled so bad.

This time I am only growing one plant and it's an autoflower. I know their will still be a strong smell but I have a couple ideas to make the smell not so noticeable.

I am going to put up 3 of those glade plug in things with the oil in it. When I first tried it out it was very strong, so I thought if I put a couple more up it will mask the smell of my plant. I'm also getting those clip on things for fans. I am going to put some of those on my fan and they smell very strong too.

I think most of you are going to say that using glade plug ins won't take the smell away at all and I would believe you.

I know there's always the choice of choosing ona pro gel and ona block. I think this would be the best choice but what would be better to get, the ona gel or ona block. The block is like a candle, it's solid. The gel is obviously gel and I've seen vids of how strong it is.

Air fresheners do not get rid of the odor. Instead of smelling your plant, you'll smell air freshener and plant.

Other than a carbon filter, ona gel is the only reliable way to actually get rid of the odor. Yes, it is strong stuff...and that's where most people go wrong: they use it incorrectly.

Used properly in a bucket rig, ona gel will make your house smell faintly like a Dry Cleaning establishment; no weed smell at all.

I was going to get ona gel but I was watching a video and the guy said it smelled pretty bad and was really strong. I don't wanna have a smell like that in my room but I might be able to put it outside my room, maybe I'll try it. Thanks for all the help and advice.

I'm good with my carbon filter. But at harvest I have problems with smell. My room is to small to trim in. Im in the basement and the last run of this big bud i harvested smelled the whole house up. I'm interested in this ona gel bucket rig. I would appreciate more info as to the rig set up.

I prefer the gel vs block or liquid form, tried each but the gel seems to work better without having to blow a fan across it or buy their ridiculous little fan unit. Always keep a gel container open in the basement (all my grows are in the basement), no airflow so it lasts a long time and keeps things smelling fresh. I use carbon filters of course and there's no smell from the normal ops. It just allows me to open the flowering area, pull out plants temporarily, trim etc. without worry of smelling up the rest of the house. I go through about 2 maybe 2 1/2 buckets a year, worth the spend imo. If there is any smell because I was trimming or something and people are coming over I just run the fan across the top of the bucket for a few minutes and it clears everything. Never put it in my rooms, just the open basement area.

Ona is only recommended for use around non-food products. The primary use of Ona Gel and Block is to remove blood odors from OR's or other areas where smell of blood is strong and people are absent. I tried it, but it made the weed taste funny. Ona is disallowed in any food handling/storage areas, as the food products absorb the Ona causing problems peace

Same here on the basement. But when I open the grow area and the AC or heat kicks on and instant dank all over the house.

I'm fortunate on that front, my flower room was originally my cold room in the basement. It has a door from the basement, then I installed a second wall/door to get into the room itself so I can open/close/open with no smell getting through the house. But damn, take a plant out and strip the leaves to hang and they can reek up the basement in minutes. With the Ona bucket I get some smell in the basement itself but never bad and goes away within an hour at most. Very handy too for surprise visitors

Ive got a gallon of ONA gel original, I planned on just putting a small ammount on a saucer on the main floor during flower since the gallon a little to big to just have sitting open on the counter or something

I grab the gel in 4L (1gal) and they come in buckets with a pressure/snap on lid. I remember the liquid version came in a different container though, more like a large jar with a screw-on lid.

And these later posts are why people say it's way too strong. It is. You're only supposed to use very, very small amounts of it.

If the bucket and fan setup I posted earlier, you mix about 1 tablespoon of gel with a half gallon of water and pour over the filler in the bucket. That's it.

With the fan bucket setup, it'll take you a decade to use that entire gallon. Maybe longer.

Maybe i misunderstood. My grow box is in the basement. Not inside a portioned off room. So what im reading this Ona Gel won't work?

Hell I'm going to have both methods available. I will have the whole block smelling like fresh linen. And for good measure hang some clothes on the clothes line.
