I have one overhead in the garage. Actually several brands/ types. After converting to cobs I saw the light.... They do work.
You should salvage from it and convert it.

I am not sure why so much hatred for the cheap drivers. From my experience, the cheap chinese 50w ones are doing just fine and run far cooler than the meanwells. There is the safety factor with the meanwells that shouldn't be overlooked especially with a wet environment but for low risk, low watt, don't toss them away.

They're IP67 rated bro. You can literally spray a hose on one and it'll be just fine.

I didn't say I didn't like the drivers. I just prefer to series up as well as have dimming. I hate to run 1000w in 15 sq feet. I usually run 750 give or take. Plus I have 4 zones. I can dim or brighten each corner.

I just bought 2 mars lights myself. A couple of the mars pro 2 160's. That was almost $700. I ran them for about a month and now I'm selling them to build a cob set up. After watching all of 'mou5's videos and reading on here. Cobs are the way to go. I recommend you look into it. If diy isn't your thing, then there are some pre-made lights that use cobs. Check out the photon180 at northerngrowlights.com or the lights at pacificlightconcepts.com. you can also look at cobkits.com for some cool little light engines.

You are saying that without having run cobs yet? How do you know if they will do better?

The first and last companies are sponsors on the site. The middle one isn't and has been brought in serious question on these forums. Apparently he was even rude to the moderators demanding that posts from unhappy customers be removed from the site.

Do you want to deal with someone like that? Stick with the other two. They won't sell you 'UL proof' stuff.

I have zero experience with any of this. I'm a nature guy and have only run outdoor grows. I'm looking for a small, stealth indoor gig. Have no preference. Have no experience with indoor... certainly have no input. That's why I'm asking brah.

These white cobs are growing some very happy and healthy plants. No bleached buds like other leds, even branded leds.

This reason is good. Here is another. 600w cob will run cooler than 600w hps, so the plants do better because of the environment.

I have used well sh*t leds and still grown nice bud. No reason why you can't do the same.

There seems to be some difference in opinion between "store bought" and DIY led's here... I'll more than likely run my gig, see what happens and move forward accordingly. I'm not a heavy hitter so anything produced is more than I had before, however, I would prefer to "show off" my end result when the time comes, versus having a bowl already loaded before company comes over to hid the fact that what I have to offer is less than dank...lol.

You can grow with a vipar if you only have it. But if you built a cob setup based AROUND that vipar, the 2 together are da bidness.
