If you found bud rot (botrytis) your plant has bud rot.. the spores travel by air, water, and contact..
It rots from the inside out and is usually found in the thickest parts of the plant.. it loves big thick buds..

Unfortunately I'm finding a large amount of caterpillars now. Had to cut down a few more branches, and try my best to search through each node. It's a serious disappointment. I had no idea they were gonna be this bad. The trichs are definitely not ready to go yet. Gonna have to ride out the storm and check daily for rot.

Caterpillars or little green worms? Fuzzy bear caterpillars or tobacco worms? Tobacco worms are what cause bud rot! They eat and poop...the poop causes the rot!

I had a piece of rot and also found the little bugger that caused it! It really sucks to hear that!

They look like caterpillars to me, they're all different sizes from only visible with a scope up to half inch or so long. They're wedged inside the bud sections eating and pooping away. All are green or brownish.

I think I either found egg clusters in there or it was poo.

The moth lays the eggs, the worms hatch, eat your bud and poop on it then web down to the soil below your plant and pupate in the soil, coming out as the moth to start it all over again!

Yep, these are them. I've found a couple webbed inside buds. I thought it was mold until I found them in a little cocoon inside.

Well they come out at night! Get a light and tweezers and go worm hunting! Sorry to hear about this! It is really disheartening after all the time, energy and heart into your plants!
