Most Efficient LED Light

i hear ya. but i think 2.2 is easily acheivable. 2.6 would be a high water mark

lets look at jorge's digitized citi data

upload_2016-10-8_12-1-4.png

again this is on paper, i dont have my data in front of me to know if jorge used minimum flux per citi spec.

we do know citi tends to punch above its weight in testing so its possible that the numbers above are understated as much as a few percent or more. also at the low currents were targeting for efficiency, its possible to over-cool which would help a bit with flux. 90CRI chips also flux a little higher. theres also several chips our there that perform above the 1825 (whats up @Rahz wheres youre 3 umol goodness)

lots of little things.like that add up and suddenly 2.7-2.8+ is within reach at the chip level. if youre using meanwell's best you can be 95-96% efficient so in absence of optics 2.6 is right there

1818 w/optics hitting 2.6 would be a feat but we shall see!

this time next year 2.5+ should be the norm for HQ commercial cob fixtures as we will be below $1/watt on chip cost for 200lm/W

further to the point of the last two posts look at citi 1212
$12 chip
16 W
171 lm/W
2.53 flux

im sayin... the future is now. at 350 mA/ $1/watt thats prob pushing toward 180 lm/W at the chip level. A 20% gain in cost/efficiency in a year is nothing - this time last year crees were over $50 now we have chips in the low $20s topping them

The new zelion hl300...... shows a significant? Umol/j difference between their mono model vs grow white version at same system level. Birdie says both where sphere tested.......

Granted I don't know how good osram 'S "whites " are atm........

Edit..... phone blows..... cobs are going to have a hard time hitting the #s being claimed

Really guys! It's come to this again? I will at least dignify you with a response.
I don't have time to repeat myself in full again though not the patience. Every time this happens, they say you sound like a salesman. Well, it's not my fault everything checks out to be high quality components & that's what you're asking me to tell you guy.
And if you can't understand the benefits of an Enhanced Spectrum to our plants then I suggest you start back to the beginning.
Everything you're asking is said by me & many others already. Many copy n pasted the direct e-mails from the owner.
You can read my threads & at least put a lil effort in before you knock something you know nothing about obviously.
Yeah, the web-sites down. That sucks & I get it. Means nothing to me though. All & every question is answered directly by Victor the owner through e-mail and he notifies me when new models come out & tells me on full what they incorporate. As he does with all his clients thus far that I've seen.
Oh, you know about the 5 yr. Warrenty right?
I'm not digging for par #'s right now. Building a veg room.
Amares that I own:
Pro-4 : -
-MeanWell drivers, top-bin x3 Cree CXB-3590's, 5 watt Xp-G3 monos, Copper-core Aluminum heat sinks, quite fans.
36"x12" , 400 watts, 90• reflectors w/ optional additional 90• big glass lenses, 2 separate switches for veg & cobs.

SolarEclipse-450 :
- LS Drivers, x6 top-bin Cree CXB-3070's, Ep-G2 monos, copper-core aluminum heat-sinks, quite fans, 120• reflectors with optional, additional 90• Glass lenses, T-8 UVB bulb, 3 separate switches & cord (dedicated) for the UV-B bulb Veg,Cobs.
468 watts
21"x22" (i think)
Both built high quality beefy everything. Beautiful looking units. Everything about them is clean n professional. Company backs everything. Plants love them! I can't even explain it, I'm so happy with them. Buying more this week for the new led room.
BTW, When I say the word best or anyone other then the manufacturer, then it's obviously my opinion genius! lol!
This company made no claims to me or on their site. Owner stays in contact & backs his Warrenty in full. Get great sales too!
So, don't get it twisted, DIY is great & so we're your efforts. You built a nice big light. I'd be proud too & wish I had the time myself for certain applications. Never disagreed. But if you want a solid pre-built light. I feel Amares got everything i ever would want in my led after studying my balls off to learn more then I ever set out to. Even compared multiple light sources for 2 years in a big setting with large plants. I know Wazup man.
Anyways, the Par #'s have been posted direct from e-mail conversations all over here. Go look. If I come across mine I'll try to remember to post them here. PPD soon to come.
Hope you enjoyed & appreciate the time i took to respond. It's getting redundant though. I really wish they would get that site up soon. The info is practically common knowledge now though. Spreading false info ain't cool.
I can see inside the lights through the slots in the side (venting) & everything is neat, wires all all in a white insulated sleeve. Don't need to open it, I see everything & posted a pic before to. Clean build as it gets.

Made in China, CHECK
CXB 3070 48% efficient, CHECK
Not top bin monos, CHECK
Some Internet guy making false claims on every post, CHECK.

Yep, checks out with SK and platinum

i just wanted to know if you had the par numbers on the bigger panel or had opened one to check it out.dont get all bent up hybrid,we can see it works well for you.but i cant go off just that as i have grown many a dank looking plant under my mars panel and we all know those are complete shit right ?

3000k 80ra.
I've been leaning in that direction myself so that's good to see. I'm wondering though with 3500 having made such an impact how receptive people will be towards it. My larger lamps will be 3000/80 from this point forward once the current stock is gone but the smaller one will still be 3500 for the time being, maybe 4000 at some point, though it would suit me fine to build it stock at 3000/80 too.

ill be fine with anything from 2200k to 4000k.i mean hps is typically 2200k and nobody complained about spectrum then.im running 2700k 80cri cree bars now and i like what i see so far and the par meter numbers seem totally indentical to the 3500k bars.personally i dont like how short my plants are under 3500k.
