but we can also build them to use up the old waste that was left over from old reactors

the nuclear fleet that we have at the moment is a throw back to the cold war days and the need to provide material to build nuclear bombs. those reactors use 1% of the fuel available leaving the rest of the 99% of nastyness that lasts for a very long time

we can burn 99% of that same fuel

and we can do it safely
