Question about air flow.

Hey guys I have an interesting question that I am very curious about.
I don't have anything but a fan with a filter on the back and I'm going to use dryer sheets on the back of my other fan.

I know that this sounds ridiculous but I have to control the smell. I can't get any carbon filter or anything like that.

My main worry is about putting a fan inside my closet to circulate the air around the plant. Do I really need to have a fan pointing at my plant or could I just let the plant grow without having any air blow on my plant.

The reason why I don't want to have a fan blowing around the smell is because it will make my room smell way worse in my opinion though. So ya pretty much what would you guys do and the main thing about having a fan circulating the weed smell. Thanks guys.

You need a fan to circulate air or the plant won't grow so well. Doesn't have to blowing right on the plants.

Keep a pot of cabbage simmering on the stove. Should work better than dryer sheets which won't help at all except maybe a wee bit in the plant room.

Kinda like bathroom sprays .....just makes it smell like you took a shit in a flower garden .....or a coconut or wiped your ass with cinnamon sticks etc etc etc ....I could picture a little fan oscillating in a tiny closet with dryer sheets blowing around like little I surrender flags .........stinky plant =stinky room

Hows it going edward. Heres my humble opinion if you cant (for financial or other reasons) set up a proper grow you should just buy it from someone. If you cant do it right the end product wont be worth the time or effort you are gonna put into it.

I fumbled along for years McGyvering things or doing without and managed to keep myself in lots of my own bud with plenty extra for friends and family. Each year it got a little better and for the last 15 years or so I can grow pot that rivals any you'll smoke anywhere else.

I fumbled along for years McGyvering things or doing without and managed to keep myself in lots of my own bud with plenty extra for friends and family. Each year it got a little better and for the last 15 years or so I can grow pot that rivals any you'll smoke anywhere else.

No actually Its a smart and frugal approuch.Why would i want to spend $30-40 a month on electric then add in soil pots nutes fans and then end up with 7 grams of wispy half done pot for around $160-200. Not negative at all

Lets not ignore the legality aspect...

And we all know smell is right up there with loose lips for sinking grow ships.

Otherwise, you should probably not skimp on a proper air purifier or filter.

If you are in a Prohibition State, and you have a worry about smell, there is no substitute for covering your ass in terms of not having to deal with the fallout later.

As for the air flow:

In a closet, it'll probably exchange gasses fine without, but using a fan will help it grow by helping it acquire fresh air. Especially when it's hot or if otherwise using an HID lamp (HPS/MH) the plant needs more CO2-rich air to metabolise properly (plants breathe in CO2/carbon dioxide and respire O2/oxygen. Too much oxygen in a closet means it doesn't have CO2 to breathe and grow properly. Thos breathing works in tandem with its digestion of nutrients in effecting its growth.)

That aside, putting a fan on it will help it build a strong, stable trunk and branches.

Seriously, though: Don't be lazy if you are having odor concerns. You do not want to deal with it after it becomes a legal issue.
