Great for starting seed. But if you want a cheap light use the 19w LEDs from wally world.

I just switched from 40w CFL soft light to 4 60w daylight CFL and they reacted quickly. How many of the led do you use. ? I'm just looking to get them to veg a lot and get big and bushy. Do you usually use more lights to flower?

First off I want to say welcome.

So I use mh for veg and hps for flower.

But to answer your original question, I use 3 5000k and 1 3000k CFL to start seed, also add 1 3500k , 1 6500k 19w led.

I have a diy fixture with all of this mounted to it. For details pm me.

Olive's lights are a thousand times better than what I have referred to. And 500 times more expensive but if you can afford it. That's why I said cheap. How ever my diy fixture is out performing my 600 hps , more Bud site's, with better development. I am running a side by side comparison, and so far the diy is winning. Unbelievable, I know, I think the hps will win but it's not right now.

My experiment is to see the effect of changing spectrum though out flower, by adding or removing 3000k/5000k/6500k .

Meh, it was like $500-600 for that setup. I chose to get three hard-driven single-emitter fixtures instead of 1 soft-driven 3-emitter fixture. For filling this kind of space (up to a 4.5x4.5) it costs about $500, and you only use about 270w per kWh (241 for the lights, the rest between three fans and three drivers), so like $9-20 a month for the PPFD of a 600w HPS.
