Hey fellas, do pardon if my post won't be anything new to you, and if you already know where this q. have been answered please point me that way.

I'm quite a virgin to growing, not when it comes to tomatoes or cucumbers, and right now a bit overwhelmed with all of the info to process, yet I have already got my seedlings going, so need a light asap, meaning yesterday

I made my choice on Timber led lights, but still confused there are 3 choices of lines - Cree, Vero and Citezen.

So the q is I plan to grow about 18 plants, and have room for clones, new seeds, and vegetative growths, the room space I have is about 10x10 feet, which I will split in 2. What would be the must efficient and beneficial light for flowering 18 plants and for the vegetative room?

What line to go with in timber and watts?

Are you implying to keep all the plants in the same room with the 900watts led? Flowering and vegetative?

But that was on my mind, how will it work out, or how to make it work, if flowering has to be on 12/12 hours and vegetative on 18/6 hours or 24 hours of light?

If you want to veg all your plants at once, then you could get those two fixtures and dim them for vegging. Then when you flip to flower, you would increase the output.

If you want to run flowering AND vegging plants at the same time, then you would have to have separated space to facilitate the different ON/OFF schedules.

Won't be 900watts a waste of energy on only 18 plants? I'm new to the growing so wanted to learn gradually as I progress, than go for the heavy guns.

Oh and that what they look like on the day 3, I ordered seeds from Elev8, 6 of them, 4 have sprouted...


So I ordered from other place more seeds, for now I have only 4 ( hopefully ladies)... any advice will be much appreciated.

If you were only flowering in a 10'x10' you would want 4 of those 900w fixtures, one in each 5'x5' space (or one in each corner). If you are dividing your tent, which is kinda weird because veg and flower require different durations of light per day unless you're running auto's. If you aren't running auto's then how do you plan to completely block off the light from one side of your tent from the other side?

Don't worry about the brand names, those 3 are all excellent. Buy the cheapest if you're on a budget and know that they will work just as well as the more expensive Cree cobs.
Flowering requires about 25-50w per sqft.
Vegging requires about 10-25w per sqft.

I want to do it old fashion soil, and looking in on what type of soil to use, I read many people favor coco mix.

The only experience I had with growing, was once on my balcony in big pot, just natural sun and lots of positive vibes, it did ok, but I was anxious and smoked it way before it's due time ;(

So I'm open to all (not malicious) advice that might help out! Oh and where would've the best place to show my growing log and post pics?

It's going to be in the room (semi basement type), and I had the same idea about different light schemes for different growth stages, but was a bit confused from a few readings, where it seemed that people manage it in one room. I cannot allocate one more room for it, so I was planning to put a partition and make it in two smaller rooms, to block the light.

I haven't had any experience with auto, so for now I figured to go with only feminized seeds.

If you split the room into 2-5x5 spaces with a partition like you said then you could just get two separate fixtures. One for each 5x5 space. The 900 watt fixture could be for flower and give you approximately 35 watts per square foot which is plenty for flower. 5x5=25÷900watts=36watts/sq.ft With two rooms you would need two separate lights so you could run perpetual.

Yeah. To cover all 100sqft you'd need 4 900w veros and that would be epic.

Get three 900w vero lights from timber and run 3 5'x5' areas. Should easily pull 2.5lbs per 5x5 area. Use the 4th 5'x5' area for vegging by getting a 5'x5' high quality tent so it's all secluded and no light leaks. Your veg area would be fine with 400w of timber kits of your choosing.

This would be an awesome grow room bro. The timber lights would cover the 5'x5' area with 900w better than a DE hid light at 1100w and you could manage heat pretty easily.

If you are going to grow in coco, it's more like hydro than soil. Do some research. There is a coco thread on this forum you can read. I've been studying up myself to try it.

That would depend on how you grow them. You could put dozens of plants or just one. Either way you could get between 1-2lbs from that 5'x5' space off 1 plant or off 10. Check out sixstring2112's grows, he likes to grow one plant with cobs to be 5' wide and they look outstanding. If you grew them with a shorter veg time like most people then you would easily fit 4-6 plants in that space.

If you are going to grow in coco, it's more like hydro than soil. Do some research. There is a coco thread on this forum you can read. I've been studying up myself to try it.

I was thinking that using coco might lead to very porous soil and it won't retain water much, I was though wondering maybe one of other reason is because of the nutrient.
