Anybody tried these grow chips from AliExpress?

I get these free when buy those little ballasts from China.

Absolute junk chip except for warehouse lighting / science experiments.. I like having a few cheap chips around to test ballasts, etc..

They're inefficient epistars/epileds
And more expensive than a similar wattage Citizen chip.

May as well just buy cheap LED bulbs.

Which they have as well in other wavelengths.

Oh and you should probably do a bit of research before spouting something you know nothing about - IR spectrum begins at 700nm. Wikipedia is easy to access.
Technically you are right. You better convince Cree, osram and epistar that they are all labeling their 730nm leds wrong.

They can label them however they want, all that matters is the wavelength.

You on the other hand interjecting incorrect information indicates that you don't have a clue and shouldn't be posting in such forums.

Unless of course your point was to show how stupid you really are.

Yes because all the major manufacturers are wrong but some guy who showed up here just today is right.

Are you new to the Internet? Have you studied the Emerson effect or photo initiation at all.

Nobody refers to 730nm as IR because far red and IR are two very different things in this world.

I suggest you start using the language in common use or you are going to be arguing with everybody when it comes to this.

Who is this nobody you refer to? Must be a friend of yours.

I asked a few researchers nearby and they seem to agree with me. They are most certainly smarter than you and your friend nobody.

Nobody, as in nobody on the Internet discussing any of this and none of the manufacturers of these chips.

But I see your only intent is to run around and call people stupid, you've only been here a couple hours and you've done this in 3 threads so far.

So far, two people, yourself and Jimmy the mental giant, have proven to be on the lower side of the intelligence spectrum after your own self identification.

My last post asked you to enlighten us on the definition of IR and so far you haven't done anything but dribble nonsense so I would like you to refocus and get back to the task at hand. That is if you can. It might be too much to ask of a neophyte.

So everybody on every grow forum and every major manufacturer of these 730s is incorrect in calling it far red? While you, and you alone are correct?

Better get busy, you have a ton of work ahead of you convincing almost the entirety of marijuana growers and led manufacturers that they are wrong

Far red and near-infrared are synonyms. (the visible parts of it, mostly)
Far red is infrared, specifically between 700 and whatever.

So is that the scientific or the social explanation?

Hint: Science doesn't really care what the majority thinks. Just because Kim K likes Mars doesn't mean you should use them.

Hint #2: You can commercially label anything you want, it doesn't even have to be relevant.

Hint #3: Take a science class. It might help.

Oh, you like science? Here is a couple hundred articles on Google Scholar calling 730nm far red and how it relates to plant growth.

https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=730+nm+far+red&btnG=&hl=en&as_sdt=0,9.

I suppose they are all wrong too.
