Can I flip yet?

Hey guys, I am about 10 weeks into my first grow. She is an AK-48 from Nirvana that started from seed. All organic super soil in a 5 gallon smart pot. The grow tent is 32"x32"x60". She has been topped a lot, LST'd and now under a scrog. I have her under a 600w MH at the moment.

She was doing great until week 7 of veg. I had to leave town and my care taker was having problems with finding a balanced water schedule. The humidity was also very low. The plant was extremely stressed and did not make any noticeable growth since week seven. She remained the same size for the past 3 weeks.

I got back this past Monday (5 days ago) and have been able to nurse her back to life! She looks great again and seems to be vegging strong. I would like to get her into flower ASAP but I want to make sure that she will fill her entire scrog. I am looking to get a good yield and can wait a few extra days if you think she needs it.

Let me know your thoughts about fliping this girl into flower!

they will stretch 50% of the room total but you still have lots of room i would keep tucking and HST make more colas before you switch.

I bring all of my colas, weaving to fill each square, trim growth under the screen, and flower, otherwise I got a fancy plant support system instead.

Cool, I know shes not that big yet although she is mature. Many tops have been showing pre-flowering signs over the past few weeks. I will let her veg another week or two until she fills up the screen. I will update in a few days with her progress.

I'm very OCD and systematic when it comes to tucking the scrog. I have plenty of room left to route the 4 main stems and then branch out everything else evenly.

Any thoughts on what I could yield with a setup like this if done correctly?

Also, I still have a few branches that I LST'd down. The branches have stretched out horizontally and are now growing vertically towards the net.

Should I release all the LST ties and let everything grow to the net and continue tucking? Or, should I keep everything tied down as it is and wait patiently for the tops to reach the net?

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

You can remove all of the LST ties downs at this point. You'll find the branches are pretty much locked in place.

Quick Update

Hey guys, just wanted to give a short update on the girl. She has been doing great and really filled out over the past 3 or 4 days. I took some photos today, what do you guys think?

I have noticed so many new tops and branches starting to form. I have not counted although she easily has about 50-80 tops that will fill out the screen. Whatever I'm doing seems to be working!

At this rate, I think I could flip her in the next few days and have her transitioned into flower by Sunday.

Fill out the screen some more - as the branches come up through, tuck them back under. flip when the scrog is 70-80% filled. During the stretch, supercrop the tallest colas to keep the canopy even. I had some branches I supercopped three times in a week.

If i were you i would do something about that temperature. 95 degree? 111 highest? Jesus man, you be lucky if they didn't herm out on you the 1st week of flowering.

May I know were you considering begining a mainline or did you top your plants like that out of aesthetic/simple desire for uniformity/maintenance?

Hey man, I am well aware about the temp and humidity problems. If you look closely, you can see that the monitor is actually defective (the high temp reading is faded away). The highest the temp has reached is 100 degrees F. I have a 6" vent fan running full time as well as a few fans inside the tent giving her a nice breeze. I've also opened the intake vents on the tent. The 600w light just creates a lot of heat. Any suggestions on how to lower the temp a bit?

I've added a humidifier to the tent which has definitely made a difference. Prior to the humidifier, RH would always be 16%. Now, she ranges from a low of 16% to a high of 35%. I believe RH varies throughout the day from the humidifier kicking on and off. I understand that these numbers are not ideal but theirs not much else that I can do.

Again, I know my temp and humidity could be better but theirs not much else I can do for her /: She doesn't seem to mind it much at all right now. Lets hope she pulls through and like you said, hope she wont herm out on me.

If you guys have any tips or ideas to help control the temp or humidity, please let me know!

Sure! First off, this is not a mainline. I am a perfectionist and a bit OCD. Since this is my first grow, I have been trying to keep everything controlled. She has been topped quite a few times. My goal is to keep her uniform and symmetrical. I want to create a perfect and flat canopy. This has helped a lot with maintenance and keeps everything very even

Quick question, i am also doing a scrog. I realise i am to fill the screen roughly 80% in veg then switch to flower and continue tucking for a few weeks, but what do you do after that? Do you then stop tucking and let them grow upwards or do you untuck and let it grow upwards? Sorry to hijack but this topic is pretty much spot on Nice looking plant, mines is way bushier right now, when do you start trimming? I FIM'd instead of topped so i am growing my new branches from the centre out to fill the squares. I think i will try topping next time , the Y shape seems to suit the net better would you agree?

Cool! From what I have read, you tuck throughout the stretch to achieve that flat/level canopy. After the stretch, she will no longer grow and branch out like crazy so you won't have to tuck or scrog any more. She should stay even and produce buds from each top.

I never went crazy with trimming but every once in awhile I will pluck a few fan leaves, especially if they are blocking light from the tops. I always trim and remove any deficient or sick fan leaves.

I've looked into FIM'ing as well but I chose to top since I could keep everything equal. From what I have seen, FIM'ing can produce even more than just 2 new tops.

The Y shape that I have been able to achieve is working really well for me! If I could do it again, I would top earlier on and start LST right away.

Yeah i think i will top next because the resulting Y shape looks easier to tame, i'm just worried that my main stem keeps growing up with the 4 colas that are there . I don't think i can bend the top stem completely over so its just the branches coming off it that i am able to which is fine, but that main stem could be an issue further down the line.

People handle it different I imagine - Once they filled my scrog, I let them stretch up, but supercropped the fastest growing branches to try to keep everything even.

You could use a cooltube and vent the heat out of your lights. That will lower the temperature quite a bit.

Unfortunately, I am already ducting air through my light hood with a 6" vent fan. Temps seem to stay around 90-95. I will be updating with pics tomorrow!
