If you're trying to replicate Enhanced or even close, many have tried, consensus says it can't be done cheaper DIY. Especially the quality of the build. I do wish you the best though.I don't own or use Amare, but I am basing my posts on my experience with the technology they are using. You guys are backing that up with results. And Yoda still can't grow anything more complicated than tinea pedis.
My preference is still to go DiY with my own spin. I don't care where the parts come from, I use them to provide an outcome or function at the lowest overall cost. Lots of factors go into cost including money, time and most importantly, interest.
Simple e-mail. You'll talk to the owner Victor. Tell him your down w/ RIU, discount done. He'll answer all your questions as well as hook you up. Give him @ least a day to get back to you. He's swamped w/ orders. Are you purchasing from amaretechnology.com and how are you getting discount codes for his site

I think you misunderstood me. I make no living recomending the lights I use & prefer. I'm onlyvtryingvto help others. That is where you would be wrong. My DiY involves getting low cost parts that includes re-purposing, re-use and opportunistic discounts. Cost isn't a concern for me and it isn't a competition with a commercial product. I know I can do better than what is commercially available simply because I am not constrained by one vendor's offering. Plus I have the skills so why not.
I understand that you are running this as a small business trying to eak out a living but it doesn't mean you have to trash something else and make a generic statement as such. DiY has no constraints, you can DiY as much as you want so referring to them as one group is a bad idea. Maybe qualify it as DiY using CXB3590s at <parameters> to differentiate.
Well it is just like saying you can't customize a 'lesser' car to beat a ferrari. You most certainly can at a much lower cost.I think you misunderstood me. I make no living recomending the lights I use & prefer. I'm onlyvtryingvto help others.
As far as building a DIY Enhanced light that may rival Amare, all I was saying is it's been discussed many times already as being allot less cost efficient.
You may have special sources & be the DIY man for all I know. If that's the case then more power to you. Just giving you the heads up.
No need to act high n mighty & please don't assume you know jack about me. Thank you n good luck!
Hey, more power to you. I was only trying to help before you gotchurself into a nightmare job. Pls do update me on your progress. I'd be very interested to see the final product & know a lil about how it went. I wish you all the luck & success.Well it is just like saying you can't customize a 'lesser' car to beat a ferrari. And I am not being critical, I am just saying that you can. Is it typical of how DiY is commonly done here? Probably not. Is it for everybody? Once again, probably not. But it is the way I do it and it works well for me.
Consider me neutral in the vendor wars - I mainly benefit from tech advancements and people dumping old products at super cheap prices.

I am all for the DIY crowded they come up with some really unique innovations. Back in the day I use to build my own PC's. Computer Shopper was the go to catalog back then. I would hit the Computer Trade shows for parts. So I would have a screaming fast PC for about 18 months until the CPU makers (AMD & Intel ) would release there latest next gen CPU's. Can I still go down that road today? Sure can, but in practicality I have no need to do that now. I see the same relationship in DIY lights. if you can maintain your core components and only upgrade the light modules when they release the next improved generation that would be very beneficial.Well it is just like saying you can't customize a 'lesser' car to beat a ferrari. They sure were ...N that's exactly how burple started. Although Apache was one of the first to realize that wasn't the best & adapted white w/ added red, while the others took advantage & still do.
How big is your space? Se250 is rated for a 3x3 and the se450 is rated for a 4.5x4.5Talk about top dollar though. How about one single plant with proper reflection technique?
Would the se250 do me any good or is it well worth the extra couple hundred to get the se450?
Also are there any quality/affordable led s worth trying?
Sorry buddy but that's just advertising. Se450 uses 6 cxb 3070. That's not nearly enough PPFD for a 4x4 let alone 4.5x4.5. I'd love to see a full cycle in a 4x4 of that inefficient light.....that's about the same as marss bullshitHow big is your space? Se250 is rated for a 3x3 and the se450 is rated for a 4.5x4.5
I have a questione for se450 owners. How loud are the fans?
Top quality usually calls for top price
