I like the mechatronix radial fin style heatsinks. They have one for just about any application...
Mr. OneHitDone,See my oasis cubes above?
That little trick having your oasis or rockwool cubes sitting on some perlite let's the roots grow out of the bottom of the cubes rather than being air-pruned. Then you just separate your cubes, shake the perlite off and drop them right on the bottom of your NFT channels
That is awesome, can't wait to see how the lights perform for you.Mr. OneHitDone,
I would like to thank you for your idea. It was a damn good one. I pulled my lettuce today out of my germination area and put them into the NFT channels .They were in the nursery for about 4 weeks total. They had great root structure i also added 220 more watts to my NFT table as well. So i now have 28 , 4ft - 22w 6500k leds strips in there. Thats covering a 4x8 area. I hope to hell that works.
4ft led "Tubes" with the "globes"removed?Mr. OneHitDone,

yep, cheap'o 4ft tubes with plastic covers removed. They are also on 82.07 mm centers. At about 1 ft they get 25k lm, it is very evenly spread too.4ft led "Tubes" with the "globes"removed?
nice lettce..we have up to 160 w in 4x 4..extra wattage i am sure won't hurt!
Looking good, Ive had some issues with tip burn in plants under LED also. Possibly too much light... http://agriculture.vic.gov.au/agriculture/pests-diseases-and-weeds/plant-diseases/vegetable/tipburn-in-lettuceA little lettuce update, time to start munching soon!
I need to get another batch of seedlings going to replace these as they come out
These should be about 25 Days now

I think I fucked up the germination or may have drown some of them - I was really slack on the germinating, left some of them too long in the domes.maybe give them more light? not sure, i'm a lettuce assassin, so i really shouldn't be doling out advice.
