% loss

Hey all , just wondering what sort of % in weight , you loose from wet to dry
ie; weighed at chop , then weighed 7-8 days time , before U jar it , ........curious

I think 20% of wet weight is more accurate. Sometimes a little less before dry enough for jars for me.

I remember by first harvest a number of years ago and how sad it was watching the weight drop. Relived the experience a bit recently when I made my first bubble hash and saw how little I got from my pile of trimmings.

yea 50% or you could call it %100 i think, so i have weighed it two days after hanging or after i trim. if i have an oz then i end with 14- 20 or less depending on the strain. i have done this a couple times and i always mean to remember but its a little fuzzy

That is still mostly wet weed. I hang dry 6-7 days and still lose weight in the jars. It always comes out at about 17% of its original weight. I can weigh a cola and calculate its end weight to 20% And know when to jar. Works most every time. Unless it needs to dry longer.

Before that we are smoking water. Makes black tar out of the ash.

yea i remember weighing one b4 i jarred at about 30 grms and then after a couple weeks burping and a total of a day or two with a lid off in bag on vent t-words the beginning. after all that and a little sampling it was 20 grms so it probably lost a lot of water the first two - 3 days. humidity around 50% temp 68-82 so if it lost half its wieght b4 i weighed it then another half thats 25% on the dense girl scout cookies. my ash is white. another strain shrank more was fluffy and had seeds so when removed a wet oz went down to 7 g"s when dry with about 8 g's of seed. i have done this b4 too but am no expert
