he should pull 2 off each plant easy in these pots . up to 5. i never seen more then 5 in a 3 gallon . hes using the same amount of soil as i do . 12 liters is actually a tad over 3 gallons . he will have to water very often with not a lot of buffer if he makes a nutrient mistake . the roots will be poking out of the containers but wont affect his plants . i veg for about 1.5 months in the 3 gallon pots and flower 8 to 15 weeks and reuse the soil lol . so total veg height is about 10 to 14 inches .

Hi fellow growers well the best I can explain it from start is that I planted 11 seeds in plastic cups under a 450 led then I added a 600 led . In the two weeks that they grew I made a diy tent from wood and wardrobes 6×3 and 6/7 ft high. And I added a 600w hps . Then I funked up and bought 10 litre pots witch are very wide at the top and go thinner towards bottom . They fit 12 litres in them though so that's where I filled it too with canna cocohydro gold label 60/40 mix . I veg them in these pots for around 4/5 week and flipped to flower a day ago . Had the odd mild tip burn here now there nuffin major . Now ....... I really wonder if I should purchase 11 twenty litre pots and transplant these incase I do not get 2 Oz per plant because of these dum arse wide to thin ten litre pots . 20 litres are only 2.50 each from my local hydroponics. Should I do it ????

Let me explain further...I was Makin assumptions as.. thus its your first grow? I recommend reading on HOW to use the 3 gallon Pots being suggested by many of the scholars in this thread but try to find a less shallow pot if possible until you know how fast your strains roots grow with the nutes your learning how to use with her. And this round.. please... get those lovely ladies in 5 gallon cloth pots.. Cost $13 with two day shipping for 5 pack of41srZbX7x3L._SY400_.jpg 5 gallon pots and you'll have the comfort of not worrying ìf the roots are overbound this first grow

Yeah this is my first grow and yes mate I will defo go for bigger pots next time but I want to make these bigger also or at least get 2 Oz from each and I don't have faith for that in this 2.5 gal pots . If I buy 5 gals tomorrow could I just transplant em all in their even though I'm on day 2 of flower . I have the coco to top up each put and cannazym and rhizotonic and if the roots look Boundish can I pull some off the bottom to open them back up. I think they will be root bound some time this week if not already maybe they are . I will defo look into the pots you suggest they are a lot cheaper than £250 a pot here

They like it because fresh fertile soil at the roots.. but make sure when you tranfer that the roots tight enough to get out of those pots and I've tranfered 3 weeks into flowering when I was in a similar dilemma years ago they did amazing

I hope the fact that the hydro makes it very spacious and airy in there that the roots don't get pulled off with the medium falling apart because that's what happened when I moved from small pots the roots wasn't strong enough to hold the medium together

There is no rush.. when its feeling nice and tight in the pots.. then transfer..pry week 4 in your case.

Most likely your plant will lose less leaves the last weeks of flower.. due to the fresh soil.

Will the roots grow bigger not stronger at this stage when put into the twice size pot .
Well sativas and indicas I've had the pleasure to work with grow different style/length/strengths.. regardless... you can't go wrong giving them room once they run out... but root lockout really chokes out bud production when it occurs during flowering.

My main concern is I don't know the depth you planted them. If the roots were already near the bottom... it very likely will be transplant to bigger pot down the road.

Your lucky if they are! You caught them just in time if they are and get to switch now.. Guaranteeing a nice finish..I always trade up from my 2 to 7 gallon at 2 weeks after Im done transitioning nutes to boom and works like a charm when I got the room for big pots

I'm just wondering bc I've heard you mention it in almost every post, what's the 2oz thing about? Every growing style and every strain combo will harvest differently. Try growing out the strain and see what it does with your growing style and then tweak it from there with training and feeding. Unless you have a 2oz quota somewhere, lol, just focus more on giving the plant everything she needs and she will give you everything she has. Until you get a few grow under your belt, don't worry about yields until you learn how to finish them. I have noticed with a decent grower in just plain soil that an ounce of flower per gallon of soil in the pot is average.

He's currently got a 2 gallon pot and worried about root bound into first week of flower.. great advice you offered.. thank you for good input.

Hi yes the 2 Oz thing . If I put my question a different way it may be easier. I wanted to know if a ten litre pot is capable of growing a plant that can make 2 ounces of bud . Aside from grower talent . Food . Care etc etc is it possible because I thought an experienced grower would know roughly how much room the roots needs to pot size or the maximum estimate height of a plant from pot size or if a 3 ft plant is capable of budding 2 Oz.. but anyhow , I went and bought 9 five gallon pots a minuet ago and another 2 bags of coco hydro 60 /40 and I'm going to repot them all into them and switch back to 18/12 veg for a week then flip to 12 /12 , they have been on 12 / 12 for 2 days now I hope it don't fuk em up? And 2 Oz is what I want per plant minimum. If not I don't think it's worth my while or money .
