Is it worth building a pulley system to lower/higher HPS/MH lights?

Guys, my first grow is going to be finished soon. Once it's done, I'm going to pull my grow room apart and re-make a few things.

One thing I was wondering about is if it's worth spending the time to make a pulley system so I can lower my MH/HPS lights? I'm currently running 2 x 600W side by side.

At the moment, they're fixed at a height of 1.7m (the highest they can go) The plant pots I use are 0.3m high. So in theory I could drop the lights by about 0.7m max and move them up as the plant grows.

I guess my question is, would I improve the yield by much?

I said screw it and just got some lengths of chain from Ace Hardware. Each link is around an inch and a half.
Need to raise your lights a bit? Just move your hook up a few links.
I've had a harnesses crap out. Or the rope eventually did anyways.
I don't have to worry about chains crapping out. A 4 foot length might run you 8 bucks tops. You only need 2 per light.

Chain and quick links...can't go wrong...really the proper way to do it imo. I must have used at least 200 quick link in my setup.....they NEVER break or crack...fully adjustable as you said.:clap::clap::clap:

Rope can mold. I like non porous rigging.

good question! I find the answer to be no. its so much easier to use a bucket/milk crate to adjust heights

I was this constant daily adjusting that made me use the counter weights ...lol

good luck

My lights are fixed in the flower rooms. With 7' ceilings shouldn't need to do much adjusting for you're lights.
My vegging runs from 21 to 25 days from rooted cuttings and my plants finish at 3 1/2 to 4' tall out of the pots.

That's a good point. I use my lights for both veg (MH) and flower (HPS) so I guess I'm going to go the chain route and lower them down during veg.
