I am a medical patient ,and now Ma. Has gone recreational I have started my medicinal garden
On a bugdget ,I went with a 8 bulb 4 ft Appolo T-5 from Amazon for $110,
4 5 gallon cloth pots $13 ,$20 worth of miracle grow potting soil and some foil fillm $29.99.. have enough for many grow rooms lol 1roll gorrlila tape ..3 clones Chernobyl and some Mexican brick seeds lol -- most will die ,or be males but who knows , one may turn out to be kill . I germinated them From seed in the dirt ,24/0 for a week, now they are under 12/12 with the well established girls who I felt are ready to flower..Started the seeds on March 4th.. very happy with my growth

Miraclegro is horrible soil for MJ. I'd suggest going to a hydro shop and getting something better.

Ya I have read the mixed reviews- but ,the hardware store had that and a generic true value brand ...no car ,so if it's not local ..it's not in my closet
Question on my lighting -it's rated a 40k lumens It is Evan at the ends and middle but shouldn't it be max on the meter ?

I have no knowledge of the meter you are using. As long as the reading is even all across the plant canopy you are good. You can bring the light very close, usually within 6 inches of the plant tops.

You can't even order off the web to your house ?

I guess as long as your trying that's all that matters ....However don't be surprised if you run into issues with this grow and it's a total failure altogether .....it happens with the best set ups ....I'm not saying that's what's guna happen ....just don't give up if it does and get some better soil and food next time IMO ....GL

For me The meter is good enough to test the soil
Sure I could order soil and hav it delivered ,but it cost more . And the web doesn't deliver the day I decide to set up my garden
I use a decent digital ph meter to check the water .. ungodly 9.2ph

Don't use that crappy soil for Christ's sake. Spend more now and end up with loads more in the end. Miracle grow has slow release nutes that will play havoc with your girls and you'll end up paying for it in the end with either hardly any end product or more likely a bunch of dead plants.

Yup, those timed release nutes will jack up your N in mid flower and cause Ntox at the worst possible time.

I went out and got fox farms soil, replanted two out of four pots
Now the two transplants are showing nutrient burn and the miracle grow pots are healthy and happy ! Two Plants on right are still in MG... my seedlings hate the fox farms and the clone is not happy now either !!

Ffof is a little hot, but I use it with good results ( amended ).

Lol no one said replant right away into ff. Shits strong, enough nutrients to last a month. Difference between ff and mg is ff has more natural nutrients available right away and it's easier to control, mg has a lot of chemical nutrients that are are slowly fed to the plant over 6 months or so, making it much harder to control feeding rate. I start seedlings and clones in either ff light warrior or in some peat Moss. No matter what soil you use out of the three though I would recommend adding some perlite to better aerate the soil. Your seedlings will be much happier in the long run with ff than mg though, taste and smell will also be much better. They will just experience some burn for 1-2 weeks untill they mature from the seedling stage to vegetative stage

Marijuana also grows best 1 to a pot. They will fight each other for light and nutrients otherwise, and if you fuck up, it will be easier to save plants since they're not all sharing the same soil.

Your on the right track though! Good light, good pots, now you got the right soil. Just a few more things to work on. You will get it! Like you said, there's a learning curve but after this grow I bet you will have no problems getting results you want. Practice makes perfect! It's really actually pretty simple once you get going, I recommend checking out websites like "growweedeasy.com" they have a ton of very useful info on everything from the very basics to advanced training. It's also broken down very well to make it easy to understand

That meter isn't real accurate, I only use it to compare lighting sources in diffrent parts of my canopy. It's actually kind of hard to max that meter out, I can, but that's under a 600w hid. Under my 400w of cfl I can Max it out too, but thats only 2 inchs away from the bulb

The seedlings..are from crap Mexican brick weed and
I Don't excepect much ...I just wanted to see if seeds would sprout just tossing them in moist soil...every single one germinated in the crappy true value dirt lol!

Quick question ..I am in Boston, during the day I easily stay below 86*f at the tops of my plants ...but with my windows open the floor is closer 50 to 55*f
at night ,since my closet ,is on an outside wall so the temps get into the low 60s...are the varying night and day temps going to stress the plaants out ?and Do the plants stress out over the cool floor and warm tops during the day ??
