You will hate my soil answer. I use ocean forest since I moved here as it is sold at a small store in town.

There is more available now. We got a garden store in the next town over now.

I bet nector makes some nice mix though.
I don't hate on FF. I know little about them, actually. While I am new at MJ and indoor growing, I'm not stranger to gardening. I am lucky though, the place where I did most of my gardening had great soil. I've successfully grown peas, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, rhubarb, blueberries(not from seed) roses, pansies, petunias, and wild blackberries in the naturally occurring soil in my parents back yard. The whole potted plant thing is why I'm on these forums.

I think they may have been bought with the other big names.

I'm the opposite. I never even watered a house plant before I planted a marijuana seed 3 years ago.

Now I plan to have an outdoor veggie garden and maybe some outdoor pot if I build an enclosure for the laws here.

I've just recently decided to go with Jacks but after reading this thread I'm not sure how to mix it for bloom or what ones to buy. If anyone has dummies / expert way that would be awesome.

1) Some said jacks citrus mixed with something else

2) Said just use jacks 20-20-20

I just bought jacks 20-20-20 due to one of these threads and now I'm wondering if I should have bought citrus

Awesome thread guys... some good info here
Should have been CITRUS.......In bloom you add 1/4 tsp of Potassium sulfate.

But another 22 shipping makes it 44.

I just hate paying 22 shipping.

Found this;

6 pack

#1- Calcium Nitrate (CaNO3) 500 Grams

#2- Potassium Sulphate (K2SO4) 500 Grams

#3- Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) 500 Grams

#4- Mono Potassium Phosphate (KH2PO4) 500 Grams

#5- Magnesium Sulphate (MGSO4) 500 Grams

#6- Trace Elements (TE) 100 Grams

This is 31.99 for 1.4kg

Looks like it could be gun to play with.

I am going to contact the supplier for mixing info.
Ya I didn't see that, I only buy the prime stuff as I get 2 day free shipping. It really seems Canada is a 3rd world country re online buying :(.

Yes we get screwed for online shopping.

Postage is a joke.

I often want something from US but refuse to pay more shipping than the item.

I may give the new PlantProd lineup a try.

They are known as a cheaper product but now they have an industrial MJ lineup for hydroponics.

Can't hurt to try.

I have requested a sample pack.

If anyone does find jacks or masterblend in Canada please let me know.

Thanks!
I've looked for Jacks but can't find it locally...

I would be happy with Dyna-Grow Foliage Pro but can't find it locally either but can be found on Amazon.ca

I've used plant prod in outdoor grows years ago and can't complain as it always did well.

Citrus seems to be more of a veg product from the numbers. Not sure though

Does jacks sell their own Potassium sulfate. Just ordered mono potassium sulfate online 0-52-34 replacing expensive big bloom product.

Is that 1/4 tsp per gallon?

How do you use it for bloom... to you like it better compared to something like gh flora series

Been searching the boards for the exact formula but have not come across it yet, thanks

Nope Citrus contains S in amounts that are real good for us.

For me.....equal ratio's contain too much P!

Yes Jacks does sell their own K2SO4 - 9th row down - left edge.

Amazon is 5lbs and cheaper. Or more, if you like..

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/140-9548706-0555024?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=organic+potassium+sulfate..

I won't use Mono - NASTY high P!

Jacks 3-2-1 is what I rock. 3 grams jacks professional 5-12-26 and 2 grams of their calcium nitrate 15-0-0 and 1 gram of regular epsom salt per gallon. Jacks sells 25 lb bags of each in their site and it will last you a very very long time.
don't mix calcium and sulfur, they form an insoluble precipitate, fall to the bottom of the container, and sit there till eventually washed out. have to do something like epsom salts monday and calcium nitrate thursday

I only get that if I mix them at the same time. When I mix I do the epsom salt and the 5-12-26 first until dissolved then add the calcium nitrate. If I fail to do it that way I do get the powder at bottom of res. Jacks already has epsom salt in it I just like to add more, and if you read the instructions on the jacks it says to mix that way.
