Is anyone else having trouble germinating new seeds ?

I have had a problem with a few. They sprouted fine in the paper towel, but stalled once I put them in the dirt. Also had some very weak starts, but managed to save about 2/3 of the runts. Cloning is usually easier than seeds for me.

I bought the seeds from the same seed back I always do and have been fine geminating util recently, seeds turn black no tap root even tried GA3 on the seeds no such luck also used heat mat. Maybe there is some thing going on in between shipping ?

Since moving on from the paper towel method I've had good luck. I've been using a few drops of BioAGs Ful-Power for an over night soak and then sowing in soil. So far my only problem with seedlings has been my daughters asshole cat. That bastard ate one of my Top Dawg Guava Chem Ds and one Deadhead OG x LBL.
Needless to say, I didn't speak to him for a couple of days.

I throw them in a glass of water and put it in my closet for about 4 days. Come back to check and they all sprouted. But sometimes seeds die and they do not pop. Sometimes they pop, but then they die in soil.

That is what I did...Overnight in a glass of water...16 hrs later they are all at the bottom of the glass. Put them in a wet paper towel on a plate in a cupboard. 12 hrs later all of The Black have popped, 2 of the blueberry have popped.

Will pot them tomorrow in small pots, organic soil and place the pots in a clone dome with a seedling mat underneath set at 80*

Cheers

I had all 6 of The Black germinate and 5 of Original Blueberry...I potted all of them even the one Blueberry that didn't sprout.

24hrs later 5 of The Black showed seedlings and 4 of Original Blueberry showed. I will let the ones that haven't shown yet keep going to see if they are just late...more likely tho they are duds!20170509_143623.jpg 20170509_143823.jpg

this could all be because people are breeding crazy strains that aren't natural, would never survive on their own, have no natural resistances.....i guess it'll sort itself out, the strong survive and the weak get composted
It's called pollen chucking. And it is the new standard unfortunately.

Ever wonder why a good breeder would need "testers" to grow out their genetics if they put the work in that is necessary.

I have had maybe 2% of seeds out of hundreds planted that had any problem at all.
