as of now the area is graded and rocks have been put in
24x36x12 building found the kit found to builder

vapor barrier the walls and roof

plan is put the building up have epub come out and put in the lines to feed the building then wire in a 200 amp box with a 100amp sub pannel

i am thinking r30 for the insulation walls and roof (oregon climate )

jokes advice crazy ideas to think about ......all is welcome

I've built several metal buildings for houses and spray foam insulation is where it's at . It is more expensive but pays for itself quickly. R40/50 with no links and adds structure to the building.

Why a pole barn?

pole barn is about the same as a metal building in cost
but this allows me to get the building up and then pour concrete later .......so all the exp is not at one time i can get a crop or 2 out before winter hits and higher the concrete ppl at the low point in the season (19 cubic yards for the slab is needed )

i wanted to use the spray foam just for that but i got warned against it because of the vapor barrier cost i would need need 2 layers one for the metal inner wall and another for the inside before drywall

really r50 for oregon .......what did u use on the roof for vapor/condensation

I know someone with a metal bldg which is similar to pole barn. He uses some form of white plastic sheeting for insulation and apparently has no condensation issues. This is this is a big issue in winter. His place is like mid 60s when it is high 30s outside with no heat on. Bog place too with at least 18 foot high ceilings. No MMJ. He is going to add a second floor set up.

I know another bloke with pole barn and MMJ. Like I said, condensation in the winter is the hardest issue to deal with. He is still trying to battle it.

Can you order this in the USA? It is from Slovenia near N Italy. I have relatives who visited there when they went to Italy. it is a nice place. The people speak perfect English.

they say globle supplier ......i think they do i got here from a metal building supplier from washington state

900 sq of r30 and to have it done up in the roof is about 1700-2000 (mats and labor)

R30? Is that the pink owens corning fibergls in strips? My friend tried that and condensation is still an issue.

Closed cell foam is a vapor barrier, no other vapor barrier needed.

No additional vapor barrier. But these are residence with AC and no plants so I didn't consider your situation before posting sorry.

fuck i was not planning to do much on the inside at most plywood (this is not a house does not need drywall) it is a weed garden for 5 years or so then turns into a work shop

At work we sprayed on the foam insulation to stop the metal from sweating. It worked.
I had a shop built and used double bubble insulation on top the lathing before the tin was screwed down. No sweating. If you have enough air movement then it wont sweat anyways. How tall is this pole barn?
Why dont you build rooms within the barn to grow in?

If you can get away with just covering the lower 8 feet to protect the insulation from damage. It's also nice being able to mount things to your walls.

If I was going to rock it I'd use a paperless drywall product like Dens Glas that will not mold. That green stuff they use in bathrooms will not cut it, especially in Western Oregon.
