Did some more clean up on both girls, basically took all the long stem fans.

Day 22 for the girls, on a 13.5/10.5 light schedule. Not far off from adding support, the 80 CRI girls branches were sagging a bit already.

I have been following your threads for some time. Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for taking the time out of your day for posting and sharing your canna adventures with us.

I know a lot of you are expecting the 90 to out perform the 80 and early on the 90 did put on more bio mass than the 80. But the two tents are only 3' apart and sitting in front of them with the tents open this morning, the 80 plant has noticeably larger buds, that's why it sagged first. It's still early but this puts into question the notion that the higher CRI will always win, but it's still early.

Long story short: It is all about about the amount of photosynthetic usable photons. And in special regards of phosphor-converted LEDs: Photons with a wavelenght longer than 680nm = wasted energy.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions yet. Remember that I used a quantum sensor to adjust the fixture height so that both plants have the same umole readings at the top of the plants. Al-tho it is a 100 series from Apogee not the new 500 series, but that would favor the 90 CRI plant since my sensor is not reading all the red.

Day 27, nothing changed, 80 CRI flowers look larger and the plant is more spread out from the weight difference. This strain will put on a lot of weight late.

Typical for me! The thread has been running for 6 weeks and I stumble as last about it, hehe ..!

Seems not all strains profits from high CRI in the same way.
I've observed that more deep- and far-red aka. CRI90+ is causing larger leafs, far-red also increase stem elongation and lowers the total number of branches. Both is also causing less pigments so that the leafs looks more bright green. Deep-red is also signaling the roots to grow faster and seeds to germinate while far-red is cause the opposite.
More blue, especially in the low range(400-430nm, 5% of total output) causes "much" smaller leafs. Almost half usable area, but also much darker green because of a increased number of pigments per area.. not to forget the positive effects on stomata/gas exchange.
It would be interesting to know which light produces the highest number of pigments in total per leaf. But I think the difference is not so big, but simply better distributed on a larger area on CRI90 leafs.

Doing a side by side grow with 3000k 80 CRI vs 3000k 90 CRI Quantum Boards
Each in a 3'x3' tent and in Octopots
Each has a CunFusion clone
One light is 4 QB 304's 80 CRI and the other light is 2 QB 480's 90 CRI
Both dimmed to 180 watts at the wall for veg
Both will be set at 270 watts at the wall for flower, 30 watts per sq/ft
Lights set about 36" above the plants and receiving about 260 umoles for veg

I need to make a small. Light be cuz lol i tuk my cob as a bad room light on low but all joks a side



I am get ftom kobkit. And i like clu48 cheep they work. I get 1216 or 1818. I got the to driver left what to do u tell me Phantom boards or cob

Ps , reason I'm seeing people I think using both boards and cob is because with just boards fruit is quite small from what people say compared to hard-driven cobs. Idk my self so

Quick update for day 38. I've been very busy and not paying much attention to the plants in the last week. Long story short the plants were taking quite a beating at 800 umoles, especially the 90 CRI plant. Last night I dialed both lights back to 205 watts and set the heights at approximately 16" to get 600 umoles at the top of the plants. I'll post some pics tonight.

So you're thinking or under the impression that you're having bigger flowers on the80cri. I thinks ur right and I'm thinking it's because of the lawer flux coding over the chips you're getting more intensity
