CXA3050 LED array Build 310 watts

Ok so I'm building a Led light for my veg tent. It's 2x4x5.

I'm gonna be using Cree CXA3050 ≥ 70 CRI LED array 5000k from a light I'm taking apart brand new. It was free. They are 430 bucks brand new. 4 arrays.
The only thing i have to buy are heatsinks. I have the fans and seperate 12v power supplies for them already laying around.
I have unlimited supply of aluminum angle, sheeting, flat bar, everything to make the frame.


It's rated @ 120.01 Vac, 2.544A, 302.72 W

My question is that setup worth my time to even build? I mean everything is free except heat sinks. Screenshot_20170707-083654.png

So you have the complete fixtures? If so, you'll have heatsinks. What will taking them apart do for you in a beneficial way? Are they tightly grouped and you want to spread them out?

Sorry the picture didn't load on my phone. Are they on individual heatsinks?

Yeah they are close together I wanna spread them out some. Yeah I habe the complete fixture. But they don't have heat sinks. They are built into the housing with fins

I also want to remote mount the power supply to cut down on heat in the tent. And I don't want that huge 40 pound fixture in there. But the heatsink is built in on the top of the light.its all fins just like a heatsink

Each array has it's own power supply. I think this will make a good veg light. Or possibly swap out 2 of the arrays for a 2700k array. But I definitely need heatsink. Because this doesn't have any as you can see the actual fixture itself has fins to cool the light

There's 4 arrays. One driver per chip. They are roughly 77.5 watts per chip. The light is extremely bright. And the way it's done is all from the factory. So if they are pushed hard then that's how it they set it up. It's meant to be mounted 25 foot in the air. On a building. I'm definitely not complaining. I was just curious if they were worth using to make a light with.

Right now.im vegging with 150watt led panel that is dimmable. And it is rocking my pineapple express v2. I actually had to raise the light 36 inches away from the top of the plant bc it was stacking the nodes directly ontop of each other. I had a hard time topping it because I couldn't hardly get between the nodes. But I raised the light to get the plant to stretch some. It's an outside LED light. Same brand. Just smaller and different model.

And I'm using 100 watt LED Corn cob bulb as extra lighting. Built in driver, fan, and heatsink. 360° light plus an extra panel on the tip of it to shine in every direction. Just plug it in.

Well I just hung the light in its original factory housing for now. The girls seem to like it. It's really bright. It's rated for 310 watts. It's pulling 304.3 true watts. I think if I spread them out on a frame this thing will rock in veg.

IT'S FREE. And it's no different than using any other light that's 5000k-6500k For vegging. I use HPS to flower, with 2 viparspectra par450 on each side of the HPS.

I have every wattage they make from 70watt mh and hps to 1000watt mh and hps.

Save on electric using leds over 400-600-1000 my for veg. I'm not sure why you're asking why I want to use it? A free led setup. I imagine anyone running leds would take a free setup. Even if it's only for vegging.

If it's too bright you can always run multiple COBs in parallel off of one driver.

Well since switching the lights the PEV2 has grown a ton. Don't get me wrong the leds I had before grew it pretty quick. But the difference from it to these cobs is like night and day.
