There's no flaw...it could have been more.

Are you saying that there weren't people who didn't vote for her because they thought she sucked?
There is a flaw, Hillary Clinton did suck and still sucks. I wouldn't have voted for her if you put a gun to my head. Though I didn't vote for Trump either pretty much knew Johnson would lose but it does help reminding people we don't have to choose between Democrats and Republicans!

Would you say that to women about suffrage or African Americans during the civil rights movement?

These issues are non negotiable, just like women and minority's right to vote
Pada, they actually did say that 20, 30 and 40 years before those events.

I guarantee it.

It's not like I'm rooting for a 20 yr. delay, I look around at the polarized political attitudes of the country and it's easy to make that forecast.

You can't wish it into being, you need votes. A lot of votes. Where would they come from right now?

That's exactly how you get the votes

Do you think it inspires people when they hear from their representative "Now's just not the right time..."? Especially in the face of Trumpcare?

It may not be the right time to get the votes to pass it, but it's well past the right time for our representatives to be openly and publicly supporting it. If they can't even say they support it when they know we can't get it passed, why should anyone believe them that they'll support it when we can get it passed?

Do you think women or black people just showed up one day, demanded equal rights and got them on the spot?

It took decades.

Hillary (that you hate) tried to get health insurance for everyone over 20 yrs. ago.

There is serious majority resistance out there, surely you see that.

The only resistance I see is coming from the establishment. 80% of Democrats want it, and half of Republicans want it, more than 60% of Americans support single payer

Well then, you're only looking at a small piece of the story, the part that appeals to you.

And not as objectively as I'd like, but that's up to you and your personal biases.

(which everyone has, by the way.)
You've just made some sweeping and judgmental statements.

Care to back that up with anything specific?

And 60% support legalization.

Since we don't have either one, there must be some complications.

You imply we can all band together and get that shit.

I've been trying since the '70's and only feel a little closer to legalization.

Vice President Wallace called for civil rights and the equivalent of universal health care after WW II in a 1944 speech.

Remember what happened to him? The racist southern party bosses threw him out at the 1944 convention.

Nothing worth while ever goes smooth.
That's history. Nothing is easy.

I think we've made much progress in my lifetime. Hopefully, the same will happen during yours.

But since last November, we're going backwards with much glee from the wing nuts.

Citizens United will be the end of our democracy if we don't succeed in getting rid of it.

And currently, our hands are tied.

Elect some Democrats in 2018 and try to build some momentum.
"Give us bernie or we'll give you Trump." They say they're so committed to some goals and policies but really, I think they're just happy to see the DNC lose, even if they lose too. It's like a kid who knows they're a few moves from checkmate and flips the chess board over.
