Reference please. WHO is pulling less than 1/2g/watt using "high end leds"? A retarted, blind monkey? Because I know Viparspectra ownera (FAR from high end) who pull well over that.
So you mean to tell us all - with a straight face - that Spectrum King, cree 3590's, hlg qb288's - everyone using these LEDs is getting less than 1/2g/watt? Well, Im no expert, but send them to me, because the LEAST Ive personally seen is just over 0.75g/watt - &that was with lower yielding gsc. Its funny to me, when ppl screw up, or have a poor experience, then conclude that EVERYONE has a poor experience. Well, the reason I even wanted a qb288 "high end led", is because I KNOW someone who is killing it with quantum boards. I dont get all of the argument - there ISNT any argument. High end leds have been VERIFIED as badass. PROVEN to pull more per watt... IF you use them properly. Dont raise em 3ft over your plants - basic common sense. Theyre best in a tent setting, dont have the biggest spread - but I dont care. The whole POINT, is to harvest weed. I want the light that helps me harvest the most weed, in the smallest space. Because of their low running temp, LEDs do this better for me than HID's. Used HID lighting exclusively for 20 years. I know what theyre about. They get the job done - but dont lend themselves as well to tent growing, and I tired of the high cost of ownership. Now, I dont have to buy replacement bulbs every 6-12 months & the cost in electricity is considerably less. Anyone wanting to grow big, tall sativas may want to go with a Spectrum King LED, or add extra side lighting qb's. But I just dont get it... some half assed, diy led strips didnt work for you, so leds suck? 0.45g/watt from HIGH END leds? What planet are you on? Who are these pathetic growers who cant manage 0.5g/watt with a Spectrum King or a QB288? Because I ASSURE YOU... it is THEY who are in the minority. HID's definitely still have their place - love the spread, love the price
But a high end LED cannot be beaten watt for watt, with equal genetics & equal growing skill. PERIOD.
